The Solids Disposal system is used for the collection and dewatering of
solid slurries discharged from upstream processes, such as Wellhead
Demanders, Sand Filters, Four-Phase Separators and other equipment.
The main challenge arising from treating slurry streams is the handling
of the motive fluid (water) that is used to transport the solids to the
collection system. This enhanced design helps ensure that the solids are
dewatered and also weighed on site by load cell so that the operator can
identify the appropriate time for disposal.
Operating Principle
The solids collecting and handling system consists of an atmospheric tank
designed for sweet or sour service applications (open or closed system).
Within the tank system is a custom engineered disposable filter bag made
of hydrophobic and oleophobic polymeric material to ensure the solids are
dewatered before being collected for disposal. Depending on the service
of the unit, the sand can be disposed upon visual inspection or by
load-cell indication. After the bags are filled with dewatered solids, the
pertinent data is documented in the SWT report prior to the bags being
handed over to client for disposal.
