Remit are delighted to announce a new portfolio of training courses developed for the
automotive sector.
Electric Vehicle Course Level 1 4
As the industry continues to see the impact of technological advances on modern
vehicles, businesses require highly skilled and reliable individuals in order to maintain Electric Vehicle Course Level 2 6
a competitive edge. With the industry facing a skills shortage, there is more reason for
employers to invest in the development of existing staff.

Electric Vehicle Course Level 4 10

blended approach, utilising the latest technology and includes web-based learning, Air conditioning & F-Gas 12
virtual classrooms and face to face training.
Learners can benefit from Remit’s purpose-built training facilities in England and
Scotland where we offer high quality, relevant, hands-on training supported by some
ADAS Advanced Driver Assist Systems 14
of the best trainers in the industry. With access to the latest technology and equipment,
your team can benefit from peer-to-peer engagement, in an environment designed to
enhance learning.
Once the individual has completed all of the learning, they will be able to complete an online
40 minute multiple choice test. Once passed, the individual will be awarded the IMI Level 1
Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Awareness.
Individuals completing the IMI Level 2.1 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Hazard Management
for Emergency and Recovery Personnel will learn the knowledge required to work safely
around a vehicle that may have had damage to its high energy/electrical system.
The combined IMI Level 2.2 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Routine Maintenance Activities
VEHICLE COURSE LEVELS 2.2 & 3 and IMI Level 3 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Repair and Replacement qualification will
cover:
COMBINED IMI LEVEL 2.2 AWARD IN ELECTRIC/HYBRID VEHICLE ROUTINE MAINTENANCE • Electric/hybrid vehicle system components and operation
ACTIVITIES & IMI LEVEL 3 AWARD IN ELECTRIC/HYBRID VEHICLE REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT
• Hazards surrounding electric/hybrid vehicles
• How to reduce the risks to yourself and others when working on electric/hybrid
vehicles
• Safely preparing the vehicle when carrying routine maintenance (excluding high
voltage components or systems)
• Working safely on an electric/hybrid vehicle
• Using information to carry out the task
• Carrying out repairs on high energy electrical systems
• Recording information and making suitable recommendations.
As a result, learners successfully completing this qualification will acquire significant core
knowledge and the ability to work safely around, but not maintain Electric/Hybrid vehicles
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
• Cohort size is 10 • Minimum volume 8
• Eligible Technicians will need to possess appropriate vehicle maintenance and repair
knowledge and skills at level 3.
Individuals completing the IMI Level 4 Award in the Diagnosis, Testing and Repair of Electric/

• Eligible Technicians will need to possess an appropriate level 3 qualification for
electric/hybrid vehicle as well as a minimum of six months occupational competence
in an appropriate technical role.

IMI AUTOMOTIVE REFRIGERANT HANDLING (F-GAS) ACCREDITATION
THERE ARE TWO LEVELS WITHIN AIR CONDITIONING THAT REMIT OFFER:
REFRIGERANT HANDLER – The technician must be able to work unsupervised – ideally,
they should be in full time employment with at least three months experience to ensure they
are familiar with the skills, knowledge and techniques required to recover and recharge vehicle
Air Conditioning systems without knowingly releasing refrigerant to the atmosphere. They
should also be familiar with the knowledge of the legislation applied to the use of refrigerants
(F-Gas) used in the automotive industry.
The Air Conditioning route is intended for technicians whose job role involves the maintenance
and repair or accident repair (MET role or similar) of vehicles and will have contact with the
vehicle Air Conditioning system during their work activities.
