3 Mistakes A Man Could Make That Might Make God Stop Speaking To

Him Through The Holy Spirit.

(The gift of God is without repentance. Once He gives a gift, which could be
spiritual or natural, it is meant to be forever. He does not take it back)

One very significant aspect of the activities of God in the life of man is the move of
the Holy Spirit in the life of a regenerate. The Bible says, in Romans 11:29

"For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance".(King James Version)

"For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable"(New King James Version)

which means, whatever the Lord has given anyone, in regards to spiritual gifts and
natural things, maybe wealth or His Grace, He does not take back. The only way
where God speaks to man is through the Holyspirit. This staunchly applies to His
relationship in the life of a believer. Once a believer is baptized in the Holyghost, the
Lord would start to move in his life.

The Bible rightly asserts that in Psalm 32:8 that, He will instruct and teach a man in
the ways that he should go, and He will guide him, with His eyes. Now, hearing the
voice of the Lord takes a divine Grace. Not everyone could hear His voice. We can
see this in the relationship of God and Moses in Numbers 12:6-8,

6.

"And He said, “Hear now My words: If there be a prophet among you, I, the Lord,
will make Myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.

My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all Mine house.

8

"With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even plainly, and not in dark speeches; and
the similitude of the Lord shall he behold".

Here the Lord is talking to Miriam, Aaron and Moses when Miriam and Aaron were
speaking against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman he married. God was very
angry with them, and He came

down and clarified His stand in Moses, as someone, He has loved and showered
with grace to speak face to face with Him. Such a Grace is not available for
everyone.

WHAT COULD MAKE GOD STOP SPEAKING TO A MAN

i. NOT LISTENING TO OR OBEYING THE DIRECTIONS OF GOD:

In a situation where God has favoured a man to hear His voice, it is expected of
such a person to obey the voice to the print at all times. You are not expected to
disobey the voice nor procrastinate on whatever errand you might be sent by God to
do on His behalf. Every instruction given by God to man, are actually for the benefit
of man. God does not need any favour nor help from man. But, He could use him, to
favour others for His glory.
It takes a very long time for the Lord to be tired of His relationship with a believer. If
a believer has ignored the warnings and instructions of the Lord for so long, the
Lord would appear to him severally, to correct his ways. He would send men of God
and other believers like him to talk to him of the impending danger in the offing. If he
fails to change his ways, the Holyspirit might withdraw, gradually from him, since he
is not given to listening to and doing the will of God.

( A believer could be cast out of the presence of God through his own making. God
does not just neglect any man, a man is gradually drawn away from the presence
of God when he fails to obey the voice of the Holyspirit. In the process, the Holy
Spirit also withdraws, gradually from such a person)

Virtually everyone has failed, one way or the other when it comes to obeying the
voice of the Lord. But, the Lord does not ignore or neglect a man outrightly, He does
keep leading and instructing him until it is evident that a man is presumptuous of
his sinfulness and would not turn to God anymore.

ii. GRIEVING THE HOLY SPIRIT:

God does not just cut off from speaking to a man. If a man has grieved the
Holyspirit for too long, He will withdraw gradually from him. Let us note that, it is not
the interest of God to cut a man off from the radar of the Holyspirit when a man is
no longer attuned to the things of God, and he is outrightly drawn away from all that
has brought him closer to God in the first place, he would lose the required touch
that is expected to connect to the Holyspirit.

God might decide to cut off His signal to any man if he has grieved the Holyspirit
spirit for too long. A man could grieve the Holyspirit by failing to respond to his
leading and disobeying His divine leading all the time. The Lord has so many
believers and even, non-Christians alike who could do His will and listen perfectly to
do the bidding of God. He withdraws from the disobedient and concentrates more
on the obedient believers.

(God does not just cut off a man. A man could be cut off from the leading of the
Holyspirit when he is no longer available in the premises of the clear reception of
the voice of God spiritually.)

iii. NOT WALKING WORTHY OF THE THINGS OF GOD:

If any man fails to walk worthy of the things of God, he risks losing touch with the
Holyspirit, and that could cost him a cordial relationship with God. Once that has
been established, he would be cut off from the leadings of the Holyspirit.
God does not just cut off a man. A man could be cut off from the leading of the
Holyspirit when he is no longer available in the premises of the clear reception of
the voice of God spiritually. This could only happen if he has failed to walk worthy of
the things of God and has rescinded to sinfulness, walking off the will of God by
doing things that are immoral and ungodly.
