#3 THE POET IN ME Create a short poem (free verse) with the theme illustrated below
What do you think Carl Sandburg meant with his famous quotation below?
‘’Poetry is the journal of the sea animal living on land, wanting to fly in the air. Poetry is a search
for syllables to shoot at the barriers of the unknown and the unknowable. Poetry is a phantom
script telling how rainbows are made and why they go away.’’
A poem is a piece of literature in which the words are deliberately chosen for their beauty and sound,
and are frequently written in short rhymed lines. Connected together to create the impact and strength
of touch, with the larger aim in mind. Poetry is a form of literature with the ability to express emotion
and how you feel through writing.
