“Today we honor the memory of the Founder of Girl Scouting in the
Philippines. The good turns we do each day, the little bits of service we do for others, are
an emulation of the worthy example she set for us, Girl Scouts.”

“On this special day, we remember that we owe a debt of love and
gratitude to our founder, for the gift of Girl Scouting which she brought to our shores, for
her struggles to set up the movement amidst a sea of apathy, for her courage and her
strength to live up to the Promise even to the very end.”

“She was imbued with lofty ideals, whose life was spent solely in the
performance of a noble mission, and whose martyrdom in the hands of the enemy will
shine forever as a living symbol of the true spirit of the Filipino woman.”

to engrave upon the hearts of young minds and young hearts. The spirit of Scouting
the spirit of love, this is the aim of the Escoda Memento Fund.

a great woman whose shining example will forever light our path.

CLOSING PRAYER:

ALL: “ As we close our ceremony, O Lord we ask that we may under Thy Divine
inspiration gain a widened outlook a clearer vision of all that is before us and of our
opportunities. Thus, we may then go forward and further with strengthened faith to carry
on our mission of heightening the ideals of woman- hood and helping through closer
understanding to bring about Thy happier rule of peace and goodwill upon earth. Hear
us O Father, AMEN.
