film and on television:

1. Cha Cha – is a lively, flirtatious ballroom dance full of passion and energy .
The classic Cuban motion gives the Cha Cha its unique style . Partners work
together to synchronize each movement in perfect alignment.
2. Foxtrot- The foxtrot is a ballroom dance that is lots of fun and simple to
learn and a n excellent dance for beginners. The foxtrot is a smooth dance
in which dancers make long, flowing movements across the floor.

- Is a popularized by actor Harry Fox. And it was originally performed to
big band music. However, after the release of the song “Rock Around the
Clock “. during the 1950s, foxtrot became synonymous with rock and roll
music. In the years that followed, it was split into two forms, namely, the
slow foxtrot, which is now reoffered to as foxtrot, and the fast foxtrot,
which is now called quickstep.
3. Jive- is a ballroom dance style that originated in the United States from
African- Americans. It is lively form of swing dance, and a variation of the
Jitterbug.
4. Mambo- is one of the most sensual and emotional Latin American ballroom
dances. Swaying hip movements, facial expressions, and arm movements
and holds all add to the sensuality of the dance.
5. Lindy Hop – is the ballroom dance considered to be the father of all Swing
dances. It is known for its unique, athletic style, and often contains aerial
jumps, twist and flips.
6. Pasa Doble- is one of the liveliest ballroom dances, originating in southern
France. It is modelled after the sound, drama, and movement of the
Spanish bullfight.
7. Quickstep – is a quick version of the Foxtrot. It is a ballroom dance
comprised of extremely quick stepping, syncopated feet rhythms, and runs
of quicksteps. The Quickstep is exciting to watch, but among the most
difficult of all the ballroom dance.
- Is similar to foxtrot , but the dance patterns are very different. The
patterns is quickstep have an extra half measure as well as multiples of
measure , and the time beat that is usually followed is 2/4 0r 4/4 . Since
quickstep was developed for jazz music , the tempo of the dance is quite
fast.
8. Rumba- is considered by many to be the most romantic and sensual of all
Latin ballroom dances. It is often referred to as the “’Grandfather of the
Latin dances, “’.
9. Samba- Possibly the most popular of all Brazilian ballroom dance, the
Samba is popular with young people as well as older generations. The
Samba can be performed solo or with a partner.
10.Tango- is one of the most fascinating of all dance. The sensual ballroom
dance originated in South America in the early twentieth century.

- It was originated from Argentina. There are two broad styles of modern-
day ballroom tango, which are the American style and the international
style. Even though both side styles are very popular, the international
style is preferred in dance competitions. The Americans style, on the
other hand, gives the dancers more freedom, whereby open moves such
as alternate hand holds, underarm turns , and side- by side choreograph
can be executed.
11.Viennese Waltz- is a quick rotating ballroom dance with a subtle rise and
fall. It is considered by most to be one of the most difficult dances to learn.
The simple and elegant rotational movement characterizes the Viennese
Waltz.

Vienneze Waltz, or the Wiener in German , is another version of ballroom


waltz. It incorporates various types of rotary dance moves which include
turning in a clockwise and anti – clockwise directions. When performing
these moves, dancers execute non- rotating change steps.

12.Waltz- is one of the smoothest ballroom dances. It is progressive dance


marked by long, flowing movements, continuous turns, and rise and fall.
The dance is so graceful and elegant, Waltz dancers appear to glide around
the floor with almost no effort.
- Is one of the dances that are included in the international Style ballroom
dance category . It follows a slow rhythm, and it is danced to about 30
brs or 90 beats per minute. Usually, one step is taken for every beat , or
three steps for very measure . despite having a slow tempo , the waltz can
have advanced figures that may require six steps per measure, which may
be completed with various turns. In dance sport competitions, waltz
features as the first singles dance in the standard category. It was
previously called slow waltz.
