The online indicator entitled experience of discrimination written by children and youth

wellbeing (2020) contains relevant data in regards to my topic. It highlights many statistics
concerning the psychological effect of discrimination. After reading this indicator I've been
impressed on how this data focuses on the mental health of a person, without having any type of
partiality when it comes to age.

The second piece of source gathered was a poem “discrimination" by Adelaide Rhead. She
stated factual lines and emphasizes that all are the same. I've learned that regardless of your
background and of your persona we must respect and support each other.
The final piece of source was a short animated cartoon entitled “Are you okay". The video
represents how people whom are discriminated hide their emotions and are unable to seek help
for themselves. The message in this video inspired me because it highlights how one hug is
enough to make someone feel a little better.

In accordance to the online indicator, the use of language was formal. The author wanted
readers to be able to acknowledge the information he gathered to share on the internet. The title
itself "Experience of Discrimination" shows that expository writing was used throughout the
indicator which makes it more clear and understandable.
In the poem written by Adelaide Rhead , the poet wrote on discrimination and stated facts that
captured my interest. The poem helped reorganize my thoughts regarding discrimination and that
no one has the right to feel superior. The language the writer used was understandable.
In the animated video, the use of language was Standard English. This made me have a clearer
concept of the video.

My School Based assessment has been fundamental in many ways to my persona. The
subtopic I choose to investigate made me realize the beauty and the tyrannical effect of simple
words. I gained more insight in regards to the importance of what you say and think does matter.
This SBA was able to increase my knowledge on the topic “The Psychological Effect of
Discrimination". My ability to think critically and my competence in both written and oral
language was improved because of this SBA. As a matter of fact, this assessment was what I can
say a process which arranged opportunities for me to show that I am competent. Last but not
least, throughout the process of working on my SBA I learned to contemplate the value of
teamwork. Lastly, this school-based assessment has helped me become a better person in today's
society.
