The purpose of schooling is providing a place where students can come and get their

education. It is also a place where students should be able to come and be themselves and be
welcomed with open arms. People should lean the subjects that they are in at the school. They
should also learn life after high school or in between because I feel like people prepare you for
college, but nobody prepares you for how you should act like a decent human being outside the
school walls or if you don’t go to college. I think students should play a part in what they know
because it’s them who must learn it and apply it later. It should also be up to the people who
teach the subjects what students learn because they know what they’re talking about if they
have been certified to teach. Based off what Dr. Forgey said I would say what motivates him to
do what he does with the school board is the fact that he is willing to listen and learn. I would
say that his background influences his perspective about what is good for the school district
because he is a community leader and that is what is needed to be a superintended.
When listening to Dr. Forgey and what he has to say about his community, and he said
that their community values their school. He talked about how a lot of people in the community
work at the school or have something to do with the school. Looking at the map you see that
there are parks close by and other things to do. Some educational issues that are going on in
the community is the topic of banned books.
