Abstract
Such case study will involve the use of sources that will help investigate how

performances are not affected as much. Overall how one can increase control over such
emotions.

Katya is a freshman who desires to do well in her classes. Such will allow her to pursue
all that she ever wanted. The process of her doing such however is taking a toll on her mental
health causing her to feel overwhelmed most of the time and not be as active as she desires. In an
upcoming chemistry test she is spending all of her time studying hoping that she does well to
retain her scholarship. However, doing so is pressuring her so much that she does not believe she
In my personal experience studying has not led me to constantly doubt myself when
going into an upcoming test. In fact the opposite occurs in which I feel more ready to pass rather
than having to worry about failing. On the contrary, when I have not studied for an upcoming
test I feel that failing feeling. I know I will not perform at my best and there is that chance that I
will fail the test. My mental health has been suffering by the time in which I have to study. I
overwork myself to the point in which the work just seems too confusing to understand. In order
to counter such feelings then the point of action is to ask for help from other people.
Doing so will help one understand the content a whole lot better. Going to the class and
its office hours is a huge savior when wanting to understand contents for an exam. Another way
in which a person could help mental health is to take a break from the content and the studying.
Allowing any break from the content will see huge understanding in the content. If a person
continues to overwork themselves with the content over and over then the information will end

the constant studying will not help with retaining such information.
In the case study something that Katya can do is to get in the habit of resting. Poor
behavior such as “pulling all-nighters, surviving on a poor diet, and getting minimal amounts of
movement into your day can increase symptoms of anxiety” (para 3). With the difference of
getting enough sleep and the correct nutrition then mental health should start seeing some
recovery. This will not only see performance in school increase but also the life outside of school
will be massively improving. She can build her sense of self efficacy in the classroom by asking
for help from those around. The professor is a great way to start since getting to know the
general outline of the class will help a student feel way less stressed. For the outside life one way
in which the mental health can see improvements is by joining any program that specializes in
the class. This will help in ways such as making new friends for the outside life. These friends
can also serve as study buddies which will help out in the class and other class activities.
Setting realistic goals is very important because failure to achieve your inflated goals will
