Objectives : Throughout the shift, the student will be able to
1. Adhere to ethico-legal considerations when providing safe, quality, and professional nursing care.
2. Implement safe and quality nursing interventions addressing health needs, problems and issues
affecting pregnant woman and newborn from perinatal to neonatal stage.
3. Implement participatory and empowerment strategies related to promotion of health, healthy
lifestyle/adaptation, wellness, disease management, environmental sanitation, environment
protection and health resource generation, use or access within the context of primary health care.
4. Enhance family competence on health promotion, wellness, healthy lifestyle, health care, health
resource access or use and safe environment conducive to health maintenance among its
members.
5. Implement interventions guided by prescribed context of specific health programs/services.
6. Provide health education using selected planning models to target clientele (individuals, family,
population group or community.
7. Document client’s responses/nursing care services rendered and processes/outcomes of the nurse
client working relationship.
8. Engage in advocacy activities to influence health and social care service policies and access to
services.
9. Maintain a harmonious and collegial relationship among members of the health team for effective,
efficient, and safe client care.
10. Maintain a positive practice environment.
