Oral Presentation

1. What to talk about?


○ Choose any topic you feel comfortable talking about in front of the class.
○ If you don’t feel comfortable talking in front of the class, you can video
tape yourself at home; then present your video to the class.

2. How long?
○ The length of each presentation is minimum 2 minutes long. (talking
time). Any video added is not included in talking time.

3. How? Equipment?
○ You must use at least one visual aid: a map, photos, posters, objects,
or Powerpoint slides.

4. When? Where? What?


○ You must answer most of these basic questions: when, where, what, why,
who, how. By simply addressing these questions, you should have a clear
idea of the points you need to cover.

When Presenting

1. Use the planning time to prepare what you're going to say.


2. You are allowed to have a note card, write short notes in point form.
3. Use more formal language.
4. Use short, simple sentences to express your ideas clearly.
5. Pause from time to time and don't speak too quickly.
6. Speak clearly and at the right volume.
