Halloween Events are Now Open to the Public in Grand Rapids
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., October 8, 2023 -- Grand Rapids announced the arrival of Halloween
festivities around the city. Now open to the public, activities for all ages provide entertainment
and seasonal fun in the area until the end of October.
Experience Grand Rapids announced Halloween activities now available to the public! Starting
on Oct. 1, Grand Rapids, Michigan will hold events and activities with food, contests, and fall
entertainment. Available to family, friends, and visitors in the area, local businesses and
organizations have worked to make this fall season memorable. Prices vary among locations and
include venues with free entry with other activities requiring a one-time purchase to enjoy the
attractions.
The John Ball Zoo will host nine days of trick-or-treating from Oct. 13-29. Located on Fulton
Street, the zoo will supply games, decorations, face painting and candy stations around the park.
The event is open to all ages and requires a general admission fee with a discount for children
and seniors. Mayor Rosalyn Bliss emphasized “This is event is wonderful for families in the area
with young children. I bring my grandchildren yearly to enjoy the animals and trick-or-treating
trail, and each time we have a blast!”
Additionally, a Halloween bar crawl will be held downtown on Oct. 27-28. Guests can visit up to
nine local venues, try food and drink specials, and take part in a costume contest. Open to those
21 or older, a one-time ticket purchase is needed and includes a shot or two to three drinks.
Check-in starts at 4 pm on Friday at the Tin Can on Chavez Avenue.

Open seven days a week, Robinette’s Apple Haus & Winery is also a family-friendly orchard for
all ages. Up until Nov. 5, visitors can complete a corn maze, pick apples, attend a petting zoo or
experience a hayride. Wine and hard cider are also available for adults 21 or older. Located on 4
Mile Road, entrance is free, and payment is only needed for activities and food you enjoy while
visiting.
