 MEANING OF WEB DESIGN
OVERVIEW

• Web design is the appearance,

arrangement and usability of a web
page but can also refer to the
planning process of among other
things, web graphic design and
interface design.

• Making a website requires lot of

planning and a so called wireframe
model, which helps to imagine how
the website should look and what
will it do.

• It is similar to building a house,

first the blueprints are needed to
be drawn and after that the house
is ready to be build.

• When building a website there are a few

things to keep in mind :
• It is highly important to have an easily
understandable and attractive design, the
text should be written in adaption to it. Too
much text might “scare away” users, so it is
recommended to write a short but
informative one. (if the user would like to
gain more information you could insert a
link.)
• It is advisable to use logos pictures and
other multimedia content to make it more
interesting.
• The user should be able to easily reach what
he wants and navigate to the information in
the least amount of steps possible.

• All sites are “written” in various

languages. These languages may
share some functions but all of
them fulfill different tasks.
• The language which is the spine of
a site is HTML. That is the type of
document which is opened when
you click on one.
• CSS determined the style of the
contents used in html, while
JavaScript and PHP is able to
modify them based criteria.
• MySQL, XML, and other languages
serve to create and access
databases.

• Making a website so that it

looks like and does the things
you like isn’t always easy.

• You could create a site

without programming by
choosing a template and
modifying it, but your options
will be always limited.

• Whereas, when you create

the whole site with coding,
the whole site's function and
appearance is in your hands.
 PROS AND CONS
SOFT WARE OR CODING?

• There are powerful website builder

softwares out there, most common
ones are: DreamWeaver,
Wordpress, Composer etc.

• It is relatively easy and fast to

create a website with a web builder
and a lot of features are already
built in and only the parameters are
needed to be adjusted.

• When coding you must write the

whole site by hand, but also you
might copy and paste certain
styles, behaviours or even add a
whole php file knowing what are its
inputs and outputs.
 CONCLUSION

• Today we have opportunities to use huge amount of web building

tools for coding and softwares for creating fast and user-friendly
webpages.
• When building a website, planning is essential.
• Planning a website in detail is worth it, because it will be easier
and faster to build it, since the whole page is already in the
maker’s mind.
