Grade 4 Weekly Newsletter December 4-8, 2023

ELA: Unit 2 Benchmark this week – study points are in the ELA copybook. We are
pairing the end of Unit 2 with a Trade Book, “Discovering Mars.” A quiz on this
vocabulary will be this Friday (study sheet in ELA copybook) and an open-book
comprehension quiz. Students will also finish the Informational Text writing pieces.

Religion: We are continuing our Advent lesson. A quiz on the highlighted copybook
Advent material will be next Wednesday, 12/13.

Science: A quiz on Lesson 4: Heat is Wed, 12/6. There is a study guide in the study
guide section of the copybook. Our next quiz (new module: Unit 2 Lesson 1:
Nonrenewable resources will be 12/14).

Social Studies: A quiz on Lesson 9 is Thursday, 12/7. Looking ahead, a quiz on

Lesson 10: PA’s Economy will be next Friday, 12/15.

Reminders:

Two passed quizzes for Reading Counts for this month are due by Wednesday,
December 20. Thank you for your support for 4th Grade’s “Secret Santa.” A slip to shop
for a “secret classmate” was provided on Friday. Originally, the exchange was to take
place on 12/22. Due to the schedule change of having no school on Friday 12/22,
the activity will now be on Thursday, December 21. Thank you again for your
