Purpose To assess understandings about the historical events in the Church’s


history that have led to growth and renewal
Task Outline one (1) period in the Church’s history and explain its significance
for the Catholic Church.

Special conditions for this assessment

• Using the learning in Week 6 and 7, students will prepare to write an in-class essay on:
o The Church’s Spread Across the Roman Empire
• In total you will be given 6 lessons to complete this booklet and prepare for the essay.
• This in-class essay will be written in Week 8.
• Your learning will consist of course work and a guided inquiry done as a whole class.
• You will be allowed one period in Week 8 to write your in-class essay, and you will be
allowed to bring this completed booklet in with you to complete the essay. You will be
typing your essay using your device, so it is important you come to class with it charged and
ready.
• You need to complete the essay using a Word template document that will be emailed to
you and available to download from SEQTA.
• It is important you name this document correctly. It needs to be your initials plus the code
Y10NC23. So for example, if your name is Nano Nagle, then your code is:
o NNY10NC23

Your work needs to be named in this way so it can be marked without knowing your identity. Some
of these assessment samples will be used to help teachers grade RE learning in the future.
