Khilafat Movement:
During First World War Ali Brothers, Maulana Muhammad Ali and Shaukat
Ali ,launched what they called Khilafat Movement and Gandhi seized this opportunity
to lead the Muslims in India
The Khilafat movement came to end in 1923 when Mustafa Kamal Ataturk seized
power in Turkey and expelled the British, French and Greek forces from Asia Minor
and Thrace.
Jinnah’s fourteen points:
The Delhi Muslim Proposals were included in Jinnah’s fourteen Points, which were
adopted by Muslim League in March 1929.
Simon Commission:
In November 1927, the British Government appointed a Commission composed
entirely of Englishmen and headed by Sir John Simon to inquire into working of the
system of government
Communal Award:
Ramsay MacDonald issued his famous award known as the Communal award on 26
August 1932. The scope of this award was purposely confined to the arrangements
to be made for the representation of British Indian communities in provincial
legislatures.
