DIRECTIONS CLASS 8-9

1. TOPIC FOCUS
1, Teacher explains the directions on the board and draws.
-turn left, turn right, go straight, keep going, stop, go across, go under, go along, on
the second crossing turn left, right etc.
2. Teacher asks students where the objects in the classroom are.
- Where is the blue pencil? Where is the red chair? Where is the blackboard? Where
is the rubbish bin?
2. VOCABULARY – MEMORY GAME
Teacher and students sit on the floor or carpet and play the memory game. As they
play, the teacher will ask the students wat the pictures on card show or what the
cards say and read the cards out loud every time that they open a card.
3. SPEAKING – TREASURE HUNT
The teacher explains students that they are going to play a treasure hunt game.
They decide together what is the treasure. Preferably use an object which is a new
word for them so that they can learn that too. The teacher writes students names on
board and puts them in pairs or groups. Student x leaves the classroom and the
others hide the treasure. When the student x returns to classroom, his eyes are
covered with a scarf or a patch so that he can’t see. Student in his group have to
give him the instructions and navigate him to find the treasure. The teacher will time
them and write the seconds or minutes they took on the board. The pair and group
that has the least amount of time wins.
