ABSTRACT (CHINESE)
Translation from original language as provided by author
Evaluation of water environmental quality is an important part of Environmental Impact Assessment System,
however, there are still some limitations in the method of water environmental quality evaluation that Environmental
Impact Assessment Technical Standard has recommend in China. According to these limitations, this paper is aimed
to raise a new objective and accurate method that can comprehensively reflects the actual quality of water
environmental. This new method is based on factor analysis, K-Means cluster analysis and back propagation
artificial neural network (BPANN). There are 44 monitoring datas of river in Guangdong are used for factor anlysis
and K-Means cluster anlysis in this paper. According to the results of factor anlysis and cluster anlysis, four main
factors and five levels of water quality are acquired. And then, the main factors of 44 water quality monitoring
sections are used for trainning BP neural network. This paper applies the trained BP neural network, as well as
individual pollution index and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method, to evaluate water quality of five river in
Fangcun. There are some diffierents between the evaluations of three methods. Overall, however, the evaluations
still coincident as a whole. In addition, more comprehensive results can be acquired by BP neural network. It
confilms the veracity and feasibility of the method based on factor analysis, K-Means cluster analysis and back
propagation artificial neural
