APPARATUS FOR VERIFICATION OF LAW OF

MOMENTS
1.0 THEORY:

The law of moments states that if a number of coplanar forces acting on a rigid
body keep it in equilibrium then, the algebraic sum of their moments about eny
point in their plane iszero.
() 2.0 OBJECTIVE:
To verify the la of momnents by moment disc apparatus.

3.0. APPARATUS:

Scale

can be clar1ped ora ripodstand in vertical plane. Theconcentric circles. Two pins
and has a number of holes placed symmetrically in desired position.
carrving Scale pSns can be inserted into the holes at anv
giass scale and
Apparaus is supplied complete with horizontal graduated mirror
plumb line.
