MOMENTS
1.0 THEORY:
The law of moments states that if a number of coplanar forces acting on a rigid
body keep it in equilibrium then, the algebraic sum of their moments about eny
point in their plane iszero.
() 2.0 OBJECTIVE:
To verify the la of momnents by moment disc apparatus.
3.0. APPARATUS:
Scale

7.0 PRECAUTIONS:
Distances are to be measured very carefully.
Weights should be placed gently to avoid more %eror.
Apparatus should be in leyel condition.

Step2: Trans fer point O on the glass scale for noting down the readings easily.
Step3: Note down thedistänce X, & X.
Step4: Now (W; x ) will be equal to (W; x X) that is both the clockwise and
anticlockwise moments will be equal.
Step5: Take differentsets cf reidings and iünd cui ihe value cfboth the more.
5.0 RESULT:
Check if both the moments are not equal then find out the percentage error
between the clockwise moment and anti-clockwise moment.
