1) Affirmative action is a government (or private) program designed to redress historic

injustices against specific groups by making special efforts to provide members of these
groups with access to educational and employment opportunities.

2) Students from various minorities, including Blacks, Latinos, Alaskan Native Americans/Natives,
Hispanics and Asians/Pacific Islanders, benefited from affirmative action. The aim is to end
discrimination and ensure greater diversity in universities. In general, thanks to affirmative action,
students of colour have had more opportunities especially for enrollment in the university setting
and therefore to be part of this environment. It fights injustices such as exclusion, segregation, lack
of funding and disparities in resources.

Everyone benefits from academic diversity, not just students of color. When anyone meets in the
classroom,

Things get better when different people meet in the classroom. This reduces stigma, builds self-
confidence and develops students' leadership skills, and from my perspective it is crucial to prepare
to work in a world where people come from all walks of life.

Affirmative action is not limited to money, it takes into account race and other factors when deciding
on admission to university. Money is important but it does not explain the whole story. Even if
students of color have money, they may not have the same chances as white students because of
racism. Affirmative action tries to remedy this.

Affirmative action makes university admissions more equal. The affirmative action is for universities
to examine all aspects of a student’s life, offering better chances to those who might be overlooked.

Affirmative action has also promoted social mobility. Although students of color face challenges at
first when they are accepted into leading universities, they manage to complete their studies and
earn almost the same amount of money as wealthier students.

3) Affirmative action has certain limits: We can note that some states have prohibited affirmative
action which led to a drop in student and subsequently it has damaged reputation. These stock bans
reduce diversity on campuses resulting in a loss of benefits related to the diverse student group.
There has also been much debate that affirmative action can penalize whites. There are also
concerns that affirmative action really addresses the causes of inequality including inegal historical
wealth between white and non-white
