Installation of Espirio SW
If you are using Windows 8 or 10 you need to first disable the driver signature as
explained in this guide, and then you can proceed with the Espirio SW installation
To connect the Espirio middle ear analyzer to his Software you need to correctly install the Espirio
program, by following these steps:
1) Insert the CD or the USB pendrive provided with the device to the PC;
2) Go to the CD or USB folder: Espirio Software
3) Launch the executable file “setup.exe”
4) Go ahead with the installation with default options: USB drivers will be automatically
installed
5) Create the shortcut icons on desktop (if it doesn’t happen automatically), going to the
folder: C:\Espirio18, where you can find 3 different files of interest:
• ESPIRIO.exe (Middle Ear Analyzer SW)
• Volume calibration.exe (Calibration Tool, to be used daily before using Espirio)
• Sound Pressure Calibration.exe (Calibration tool reserved for technical personnel)
Now you are free to connect the device to his program; please remember to first connect the
Middle Ear Analyzer to the pc and after this open the Espirio SW.
If you experience problems in the connection of Espirio to the SW, you can try these
options:
Disabling driver signature as explained following, of you are using Windows 8 or 10;
Manual driver installation as explained following
1) Hold down the Windows key on your keyboard and press the letter C to open the Charm
menu, then click the gear icon (Settings).

2) Click More PC Settings.
3) Click General.
NOTE: In Windows 8.1, the ‘Restart Now’ button has moved to ‘PC Setting -> Update &
Recovery -> Recovery.’

5) After restarting, click Troubleshoot.

7) Click Windows Startup Settings.

9) After restarting your computer a second time, choose Disable driver signature
enforcement from the list by typing the number 7 on your keyboard.
10) After restarting, you will be able to install Espirio drivers normally; however,
Windows will display a warning message. When the warning appears, click Install this
driver software anyway.
Note: The next time you restart your computer, driver signature enforcement will be in effect
again. You will have to repeat this process for any new boards. If you have multiple boards to use
with the same computer, we recommend installing the drivers for each one before you shut down
or restart your computer.
You are now free to install whichever drivers you so desire.

Disabling driver signature Windows 10
If you are using Windows 8 or 10 you need to perform extra steps for installation, because these
OSs impose strict limitations on driver signing.

7) On this new screen you have to press F7 to select “7) Disable driver signature
enforcement”
9) Now you can install Espirio SW as described in this guide in the “Installation of Espirio SW”
section.

2) If you see a driver with a yellow question mark, click on it and then select “SW driver
update”
3) Select the option “Look for the driver SW in the computer”
4) Search the driver to be manually installed in the following directory: C:\Espirio18\driver.
