Hook (5 mins) Introduce and explain Metis Beadwork to students through Canva

Explain Activity (10 Explain what students will complete in Art. Students will first cut out
mins) an animal they drew using yellow construction paper and glue it
down on black construction paper. They will use whatever colours
they wish and use q tips to make dots around their animal (at least
4 rounds) and then can make other objects still using circular
patterns and dots.

Activity (40 mins) 1. Students draw their animal on yellow construction paper
a. (the animal can be a lizard, turtle, butterfly, etc.)
2. Students cut out their chosen animal
3. Students will glue down their animal on black construction
4. After students have finished glueing their animal down, they
will pick 3-4 colours to paint with and create 4 rounds
around their animal.
5. Students can either continue making rounds around their
animal or make circular rounds of other objects.
Closure (5 mins) As a class, we will discuss how we felt during this activity.
