We researchers will use the Procrastination Assessment Scale of Solomon, L.J., & Rothblum, E. D.
(1984). To get the accurate data that we need, we will use questionnaires as our research
instrument these questionnaires are divided into three parts:
Part 1 of the research instrument will determine the demographic information of our
respondents like gender, age, strand and section. In this part, the respondents will answer the
question based on what is given.

Part 2 of the research instrument will determine the extent of Smartphone usage which
can affect the academic performance of the all grade students. In this section, students will be
also tasked to answer the accurate Battery Usage that can be found in the setting section of the
smartphones used by the students. This part will help the researchers to determine the
necessary that we will be gathering.

Part 3 of the research instrument corresponds to the Likert scale done by Rodriguez et
al., (2021) which we will be adapting to validate the questionnaires that contains both positive
and negative influence of Smartphone A Likert scale that will be use in this study will provide
four possible answers to a statement or question that allows respondents to indicate their
positive-to-negative strength of agreement or strength of feeling regarding the question or
statement. The researchers will be able to determine the precise response of the respondents
using the Likert scale, which will be categorize in a rank order (4= Totally Agree, 3= Agree, 2-
Disagree, 1= Totally Disagree).

The final component of the research instrument, concerns the grade average for all grade
students in BSoF during the first three months of the academic year which is the First Quarter
Grade Average.
