    LEGAL WRITING SCENARIOS

    SCENARIO I

    You are a trainee attorney in the Conveyancing Department of the law firm Johari LLP, a
    large commercial law firm based in Mbeya. The firm is acting for Mwaka Promotions in
    respect of Unit 129 Mwanjelwa, Mbeya Municipality. Your client contact is Alex Nsinge.
    The company’s address for correspondence is P.O. Box 2230, Mbeya.

    Mwaka Promotions has agreed heads of terms with Matola Recycled Paper Limited to take a
    lease of Unit 129. An agreement for lease is to be exchanged shortly. The lease itself will be
    completed at a later date.

    Your colleague, Neema Kazile (one of the Associate Attorney at the firm), has been dealing
    with this matter. She is on holiday for a few days and asked you, her trainee to draft a letter to
    Matola’s Attorney sending out the draft agreement for lease.

    Action Required.
