E-TABLETOP SESSION BY
2020 JUN 26
One-shot session will be based on ESO scenario „The Coven Conspiracy” with pregenerated characters. The
rules ought to be very simple. They will be used only on this one sessions and players will have to learn them
quite fast. With GM’s help.
Following rules descriptions are not enough for a third person to understand them quickly. They are Baniak’s
notes (Game Master for the upcoming session) and what is not included here will be improvised by him during
the game.
PC – Player Character
NPC – Non-playable Character
GM – Game Master
DMG – Damage
DL – Difficulty Level
Card Rules
The whole mechanics will be based on drawing cards from a simple deck. This will imitate standard dice rolls,
so we won’t be using virtual table like „Roll20”.
A test of a skill means that the player has to draw a card from one of three stacks (Health, Stamina, Magicka)
and compare it with Difficulty Level (DL) set by the GM. If the card is equal or higher than the DL, the test is
a success. The figures result a little bit different:
When a test resolves in a failure, a player can use his Reserve (see below) to change the result. He draws a card
from it and compares it with DL. It can be called a re-draw.
Rest, healing spells and potions help in recovering the cards (shuffling them back to the stack).
HEALTH stack is used in endurance, injury, wounds, poison and sickness tests.
MAGICKA stack is used in casting spells, sensing magic and using magic items.
Deck Preperation
Combat rules
Attack test (melee or distance) means drawing a card from the Stamina stack.
The card is compared with a DL (hit difficulty) set by the Game Master depending on an opponent type.
Higher or equal card means a HIT.
If the test results with a hit, the defender loses hitpoints (NPC) or hit cards (PC). The number of lost points/
cards equals DMG of the weapon, spell or trap. It can be reduced by armor or dodging skills.
