Because of the internet, information has shared and people are connected with each other.
Generally, the information shared and the connection generally have a positive impact(greater
than the negative impact of the internet) on the human society.

To begin with, because of the information shared and people connected, companies like Alibaba
contributes a lot to GDP.

the Internet has become a major driver of global economic growth, and the Internet has become a
major driver of global economic growth as users and streams continue to expand on a large scale.
According to the United Nations information economy report 2017, the global production of ict
products and services accounted for 6.5% of global GDP in 2016, and contributed 69.9% to GDP
growth. The industry of the world's leading companies by market capitalization represents the
main driving direction of global economic industry development.

Among the top 10 companies by market capitalization of global listed companies, 7 are Internet
technology companies. They are Apple, Google's parent company Alphabet, Microsoft, Amazon,
Facebook, Tencent and Alibaba. The information exchanged and the connection among people
play a huge part in their business. People use cell phone(iPhone) and computer(Microsoft)
because it can be used for connect with others, search information and entertainment(games
made by other companies, musics published by singers and movies, all of them are shared by
others). Google is definitely the result of shared information. We can search anything we want
on it. Facebook, Alibaba(using Taobao), and Tencent(using Wechat) connects people together.

Traditional industries such as energy, retail and automobile has dropped significantly, while that
of Internet technology companies has maintained a stable upward trend.

What’s more, because of the information shared, the resources can be reallocated more

appropriately through the platform like DiDi and Alibaba.

The booming development of modern information technologies such as computers and the
Internet and new media has provided platforms for information sharing. For example, the
development of smart phones has made the concept of sharing economy more mature. Such as
car rental platform, pedestrians as long as the mobile phone software sent a request, the owner
will be alerted after the transaction. The growing popularity of online technologies, such as
online payment methods, online search tools and identification and verification systems, has also
greatly reduced the transaction costs for people to share.

The increase of global crisis and the widening of income gap are irreversible social
contradictions. The hangover from the 2008 financial crisis, in particular, led to a big shift in
consumer attitudes to ownership. The great recession pushed people back to the new idea of
spending in the city center, and more people lived in cities and spent cooperatively, whether they
Shared cars or bicycles or anything else. This has two effects: one is cost savings. In a depressed
economy, people are using the so-called "sharing economy" to do more with less. The second is
to open financial resources. The sharing economy has revolutionized the way income is
distributed, allowing property owners to make money from idle assets. Through airbnb, for
example, homeowners in San Francisco make an average of $9,300 a year on 58 days' rent.

The change of residents' consumption values is reflected in the minds of the younger generation,
and the borrowing, leasing and sharing modes that emerge with the help of the Internet become
dominant. Instead of buying newspapers, they watch and disseminate the news as they like on
social media. Instead of buying a DVD player, they stream video. Instead of buying CDS, they
subscribe (or listen to pirated music) through services such as online music.

The sharing economy unlocks the potential benefits of idle goods. Both the owners of resources,
the demanders, and the platforms linking supply and demand can share the potential benefits and
improve efficiency without spending a lot of time and manpower. The sharing economy enables
a society to use its resources more efficiently, reduces waste from producing redundant products,
and increases resource efficiency.

In addition, because of the information shared, people can learn more information more
conveniently.

Firstly, it has a strong openness. Based on the rapid spread of broadband networks, smartphones
and mobile technology, the players are wide. This means that anyone can register, there is no
limit to the number of learners, and there is no charge for anything other than a specific
certificate or credit. For learners, the threshold of such courses is very low. As long as you have
a computer connected to the Internet, you can study according to your own needs and interests.

Secondly, there are many kinds of courses. The range of courses covers not only a wide range of
science and technology subjects, such as mathematics, statistics, computer science, natural
sciences and engineering, but also social sciences and humanities. These courses, like traditional
college courses, gradually develop students from beginners to advanced talents. Most moocs now
do not offer credit, nor are they part of an undergraduate or graduate degree. People mainly

acquire some skills and knowledge through it, which can be used in work and real life.

However, it is said that because of the too much information shared, the public are overwhelmed
by information. No one can absorb all information.

To adapt the internet, practicing the ability to select useful information would be significant. And
there are ways to improve it. For example, reading more books and trying to summarize the big
picture would be a good way. With practice, this con can be solved. However, temporarily, there
are no other ways to make such a great benefits besides internet.

To conclude, even though cons exist, they can be overcame. In addition, there are huge benefits
brought by internet. Therefore, generally, the information shared and the connection generally
have a positive impact on the human society.
