I DESCRIPTIVE MEMORY

1 JOBSITE DESCRIPTION
The aim of this document is to describe and justify the technical solution and calculations made for:
Wall Fwk using Timber Beams System.

II CALCULATION MEMORY

1 STANDARS AND CALCULATION BASES

1.1 Standards and Criteria

The general standards used for the calculation are the following standards:
 DIN 18218 “Pressure of fresh concrete on vertical formwork, 2010”.
 EN1993 Eurocode 3: Design of steel structures.
 EN1995 Euro code 5: Design of timber structures.
 UNE EN 12811. “Temporary Work Equipment”.
Drawing for formwork mentions
 UNE EN 12812. “False Performance Requirements and General drawings”. Wind Load but calculations
does not include it. Pls clarify?
1.2 Applied Loads
The load considered in the calculation is the concrete pressure.

1.3 Load Cases

In this calculation, we considered in the Service Limit State (SLS) and Ultimate Limit State (ULS)

1.4 Calculation Hypothesis

The calculation of the pressure of the concrete is based in the norm DIN 18218 “Pressure of Fresh concrete on the
vertical formworks, “2010”. It’s possible to see in the following diagram pressure, depend which conditions of pouring
are considered the possible maximum pressure will vary. The maximum concrete pressure the formwork has been
designed to support is indicated below:

Page 2
Calculation Sheet-Wall FWK

Fresh concrete density (γc) 25 kN/m3

End of setting (tE) 5h
Reference Temperature (Tc, ref) 15 ºC
Placing Temperature (Tc, placing) 15 ºC
Lowest concrete temperature until end of setting 15 ºC
Consistency class F4 (very soft)
Pressure (σhk, max) 35 kN/m2
Concrete height (h) 4m

Hydrostatic height (hs) 1.4 m

POURING RATE (v) 1.0 m/h

Notes:
* If the vibration depth (hv) is higher than the hydrostatic height, then for the consistency classes F1, F2, F3 and F4 
σhk, max = γc * hv
*Where the fresh concrete is compacted using external vibrators, the part of the formwork subject to the action of these vibrators
during compaction  σhk, max = γc* v* tE
* When using low heat cement the lowest anticipated fresh concrete temperature shall not be less than the reference
temperature Tc, Ref even when the outside temperature is considered, when concrete of consistency classes F5, F6 and SCC is
used.
