as Funk, Locking, Popping, Breaking, Hip Hop Freestyle, House Dance and Krump, as
well as their subdivisions.
Street dancing works on coordination, balance and rhythm, developing body expression
and team awareness, which makes this activity a challenging class for both the student
and the teacher.
Rap, Blues, Funk and Soul are the styles most present in Street Dance.

Street dance battle

In both individual and team battles, the breakers alternately present themselves in front
of a panel of judges who, when the rounds are over, point to the winner – or raise a
plaque with the name of the dancer/crew they think has performed the best.
The battles are characterized, therefore, by the random choice of a song and by the
improvisation of the dancers. Thus, during the dynamics of the dispute, the dancer
“breaks” the other by hindering and/or overcoming his movements.
Competitions always have an odd number of judges, usually three or five, to avoid ties.
Each judge usually only has one vote in each battle and the winner of a battle is the
dancer who gets the most votes.
