 DUAL SHUNTING MODE LOCO - SARTHI

 Condemned WAM-4 loco has been converted into a dual

shunting mode loco which can work both on OHE as well as
Battery

 This has eased the shunting process in non electrified areas

Earlier shunting in non electrified areas was done with the

provision of additional dead locos / wagons as a means of
pushing or pulling arrangement which was unsafe and
cumbersome

Now only one loco is sufficient for any shunting

CDAC TCN VCU TEST SETUP

 CDAC TCN VCU TEST SETUP

Electric loco shed Tuglakabad developed test jig for testing DIO cards of
CDAC TCN based vehicle control unit with help of D413 tool and CDAC
VCU Rack. DIO (digital input output ) cards receives various digital signal
(e.g. Panto status, VCB status etc) and gives desired output signals (e.g.
VCB ON/Off command, Panto Raising command etc) based on the logic
performed in processor cards.

The Shed is testing DIO cards of locomotives given trouble on line and

till date 10 cards found defective. At present this Setup is for testing DIO

but it will be extendable for other cards also. The same was agreed to by

the concerned firm in joint checking with Shed representatives.
 TEST BENCH FOR HIGH-REACH
PANTOGRAPH

 Shed has developed this test bench to test various

parameters of High-Reach Pantograph in-situ.
 Panto Pan pressure on OHE can be measured without
physical weight from the floor only..
 DUST FREE BEARING ROOM FOR AUX.

 Bearing condition being checked with the help of

magnifying glass.

 Maintenance / storage of bearings in dust free

environment.

 There shall be reduction in unscheduled visits due to

bearing failures of Aux. motors.
 IN-HOUSE REPAIR OF MRB, TMB, OCB FILTER

TKD shed developed Vortex tubes through a local supplier and

started to repair scrap filters in-house.

 Volt Meter:- Three volt meters for showing output phase in

three phase.

 Phase Sequence Meter:- Three yellow LED’s for open phase

check. Green LED for showing correct phase sequence.
Red LED for showing reverse phase sequence.

HYDRAULIC JACK ARRANGEMENT FOR AXLE BOX
AND DRAFT GEAR

For axle box attention in 3 Phase loco, the loco had to be partially
lifted and it entailed opening of bellow, sensor, brake rigging of that
wheel, damper etc. and it took around 16 hours.

Now this shed is using Hydraulic Jack to check/attend the axle box
and do not required opening of bellow, sensor, brake rigging of that
wheel,, damper etc. also and loco given ready only 04 hours.

We can attend two axle boxes at same time. It saves both time and
man power.

The same arrangement is also used for dropping the CBC draft gear
without damaging the yoke of CBC. 22

 COVID-19 – THE WAY AHEAD

• The regular loco minor schedule maintenance has

been split into two shifts so that staff can be

staggered.

• As of now the staff is being called in 6-14, 8-16, 10-18,

14-22, 16- 24 and 24-08.

• All the file work has been shifted to E-OFFICE.

• ARSENIC ALB 30 DISTRIBUTION has been done four

times to the staff

• Strict contact tracing and quarantine measures are

being adhered.
