The evolution of language placed a barrier between and among
interlocutors (listeners, speakers, readers, and writers). With this fact, there is a great need for advanced learning to avoid inaccuracy on either the giving or receiving end. In order to meet this need, the learners should be fully equipped with the skills and trainings required for effective communication.
Language programs or language teachers in particular aim to develop
the macro skills of the learners. Hence, many approaches have been proposed in teaching these skills. Macro skills, which can be broken into a variety of micro skills, refer to the major skills such as listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
This module is arranged to meet the special needs of language teachers
and learners specializing English. It consists of text for study; shop talk for discussion; practice for exercises; and assignments for homework.
By looking ahead in the module, a learner may anticipate homework
assignments and save articles he may use later in the course. It is of special advantage to teachers to save lecture and practice materials as well as to preserve a scrapbook or otherwise data for use when the course is repeated.
