PERSONAL ESSAY ABOUT RIZAL COURSE

The Rizal Course is one of the subjects of my curriculum for this semester. Its
purpose is for us to learn more about the writings of Rizal that made a significant
meaning to our history. It can also help to boost our patriotism for our country, and use
our knowledge and understanding of Rizal's literature to improve the lives of Filipinos.

The reason why I need to study it is because of the depth of its history. The hard
work that was put-in for writing the two of the most famous books of Rizal, which are the
Noli and El Fili. It's not just a fictional story but it's solely based on real life events. As a
Filipino, I need to learn these stories for me to experience, even just through reading,
the realities and hardships my ancestors sacrificed, for me to live in freedom.

The way I should study Rizal is by taking an interest in the topic. Reading first and
foremost the Noli and El Fili books. Research about them in reliable sources. Watch
movies of the historical retellings of the books. Maybe through this my interest on the
subject will get wider and I will get to appreciate more the life that Rizal has lived and
what he has done for the country.
