Due date Module Leader Internal Moderator
1st day of the re-sit session (see Dr. Tomasz M. Napiórkowski -
the UŁ calendar)

Students who failed the “Financial accounting” course need to re-sit one of the elements of the
coursework.
 Students who have a lower average grade for both essays than for the project, need to write a
new essay according to the directions presented below.
o For example, if the student has the following grades: Essay 1: 25%, Essay 2: 20% and
Project 40%, then (since the average grade for the essays is 22,5%; hence, lower than
the project grade) the student needs to write an essay.
 Students who have a lower grade for the project than the average grade for both essays, need to
write a new project according to the directions on the original project assignment sheet.
o The file needs to be named as follows: Student number_FA_Project Re-sit_S21, e.g. if
your student ID is 12345, you would name your file: 12345_FA_Project Re-sit_S21.
 Students who have the project grade equal to the average grade for both essays can select,
which element of the coursework they want to re-sit.
 If a student did not submit an essay or an assignment, the given grade is zero (“0”).
 Students need to use one of the appropriate cover pages provided in the following pages of this
document.

Essay re-sit topic:

Students need to write an essay on how they would use the theoretical and practical knowledge
presented in class to evaluate the impact of the current pandemic situation on a business.

Format and length

The text should be 1000-1500 words in length (A4, Times New Roman, size 12, 1.5 spacing). Tables,
graphs etc. should be included as appendix and do not count towards the said wordcount.

The file needs to be named as follows: Student number_FA_Essay Re-sit_S21, e.g. if your student ID
is 12345, you would name your file: 12345_FA_Essay Re-sit_S21. If the file is not named as directed,
it will be deleted and the submission will not be counted.

Submission
Students need to send the digital copy of the essay to the lecturer’s e-mail address
(napiorkowski.tomasz@gmail.com) on the due date. Incomplete projects will not be accepted. Late
projects will not be graded.

Marking
To receive a full mark the student should follow the submission directions. The project is graded on
the logic of the path taken by the student, which led the student to the final conclusions.
