We are The Quaives, a family run retreat centre in Wickhambreaux, Kent. We are
here to help you create a memorable retreat. It makes us happy to see every inch of
The Quaives used for nurturing experiences, whether that’s classes in the studio,
massages by the pond, or meditations in the gardens.

 the grounds
You have 19 acres to inhabit, this includes a selection of beautifully manicured
secret gardens and tree-lined fields with an array of flowers, plants and trees, and a
large pond full of fish and frogs with small waterfalls at both ends. There are plenty
of relaxation spots, hammocks and sun loungers for you to take advantage of.

Beneath the pine trees in the far open field you have a scandinavian wood-fired hot
tub for up to 8 to relax in - enjoy the vast sky, treelines and surrounding countryside
by day and stargazing at night - if you’re lucky you’ll see a shooting star or hear the
lions roaring in the nearby Zoo. In the middle of the grounds you have a tennis court
with a pair of rackets and balls - for anyone who’s up for a game!

On site is our beautiful 17th Century house which is where our family live, and 8
outbuildings for use for your retreat. The estate has some interesting history; being
previously owned by Christine McVie from Fleetwood Mac for 25 years. From The
Quaives, there are lots of beautiful walks to go on through neighbouring
picturesque villages with traditional Kent oast houses and mills.

Everyone hangs out in the Saloon, a Scandinavian style lounge - diner. One end of
the room has lovely big sofas and a log burner where guests can chill, read and chat.
While the other end is a dining area with tables and a help-yourself kitchen area.

We are blessed to be in the heart of what is known as the Garden of England here in
Kent. Surrounded by fields of locally grown produce you can be rest assured that a lot
of food can be sourced within a 15 mile radius.

Food source: garden to table

We are spoilt here with many wonderful farms on our doorstep where produce can
be sourced from local country markets some of whom will deliver your order. During
the warmer months you'll find an abundance of organic seasonal produce at our on
site kitchen garden run by the village gardening club comprising of 18 beds and a
green house. Buying from any of these sources means you are supporting local
independant growers as well as less plastic, packaging waste and travel!

Chefs:

We are blessed to work with the most wonderful retreat chefs that are highly skilled
and experienced, with a great passion for nourishing all of our retreat guests with
gourmet vegetarian food, that is tasty and inspiring. You can opt for the Plus Retreat
Hire Package where we provide you with a bio and contact details of our most
trusted and experienced retreat chefs. Alternatively if you already have a chef that
you love to work with you can bring them along and we will share details of where to
source local produce.

There are a total of up to 16 beds for your guests accommodation spread across
4 buildings within the estate. There is further accommodation for more guests in
the main estate house & at camp quaives which can be booked separately and at an
extra cost.

These can be booked alone, as a mid-week multi-day block booking or as an add
on to the weekend rate for extra long weekend stays.

For regular trainings or courses over a longer period of time we can discuss a

10% off your venue hire costs for;
returning clients, two hire bookings where both deposits are paid upfront or
when you've recommended us to a friend / peer and they've booked.

Options:

#1 Kitchen Hire ONLY and bring your own chef - £210 / day
#2 Kitchen hire PLUS - receive our exclusive recommended retreat chefs list - same
as above + a one off fee of £50

Booking process:

Post Booking, we will share with you information of our recommended food
suppliers that you can share with your chef. If you go with our PLUS option you will
also receive a document with contact details and a bio on each of our recommenced
retreat chefs that have worked with us for two years or more.

Once you've booked your chef and your retreat approaches you can start discussing
any specific retreat themes, dietary requirements or broader
requests that you would like them to incorporate into menu planning.

FRIDAY

WELCOME SNACK: Apple and molasses cake

DINNER: Sweet and sour tagine, quinoa, courgettes with halloumi,
mint and lemon zest, moroccan carrot salad.
PUDDING: Poached plums with cashew cream and tahini biscuits.

SATURDAY

BREAKFAST: Oat and amaranth porridge with stewed spiced fruits.

Baked eggs,tahini, sourdough. Nut butter and honey.
LUNCH: All greens soup, golden slice, harissa, roasted beets, green salad
DINNER: Chana masala, green bean curry, spiced rice, heritage tomato
salad with onion and coriander, raita.
PUDDING: Chocolate nut butter cups

SUNDAY

BREAKFAST: Blackberry chia bowl with granola topping.

Boiled eggs, toast and toppings.
LUNCH: Beetroot burgers, salsa verde, baked sweet potato with dill
and feta, watercress with apple and walnuts, lettuce slaw.

Hot Tub

We have a beautiful wood-fired Scandinavian hot tub set in the gardens

overlooking trees and fields. A night dip is especially delightful underneath a
blanket of stars.

Massages

We work with some wonderful massage therapists that are able to offer your
guests relaxing and rejuvenating treatments that will greatly support their
unwinding and deeply nourishing time here at The Quaives.

Or bring your own therapist and hire our retreat room for £120 for 1x day

PAYMENT TERMS

We require 30% deposit for venue hire and food paid upfront as a deposit to
reserve the dates, with the rest- 70% paid in full, no less than, 3 months prior
to the arrival date.

All costs above will be billed directly to your company so you can then
structure the prices to different individuals as you see fit.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Unfortunately we do not offer refunds under any circumstances.

It is the responsibility of retreat hosts to ensure that they have suitable T’s
and C’s in place with their guests. The Quaives cannot take responsibility for
guest cancellations.

For hosts travelling from abroad for their retreat with us, The Quaives is not
responsible for any travel restrictions that may be in place at the time of
your event that precludes you from travelling freely between the UK and
your country of origin or onward destination. In this instance we cannot
offer refunds or a change of date unless a like-for-like replacement can be
found for your original booking. If a replacement can be found, we will
deduct an admin fee to cover the time and resource required to move your
booking.

After a date is fixed and your deposit is received, you will receive an
information pack with:

- links to high-res images for your marketing

- a map of the grounds
- useful information for your teachers and guests
- detailed directions
- suggestions of what to bring
- hot tub safety info
- clarity on your responsibilities for hiring the venue and looking after
your group

Please read through carefully and you may find bits useful to cut and
paste into emails and documents for your clients.
