JULY 2023

Day 1 1st July, 2023

PRAYER PROJECTS
Key Texts: James 5:16, Luke 18:1, Colossians 4:2, 1 Thessalonians 5:17
When it comes to the subject of prayer, it's important to understand that there are indeed
things you can do/get without prayer. However, there are also things that only prayer can do.
And those things that only prayer can do are the primary purpose of prayer.

Not everything requires prayer. For example, people do and run businesses without prayer.
Some of the richest people in the world don't even believe in God. Also, people get cured of
diseases through medical treatment. However, where medical science becomes helpless, prayer
stands alone as the only thing that can work. Our boast about the power of God is that it works
where and when medical science works as well as where and when medical science can do
nothing.

People try to make little of prayer because they can do some things people pray to do without
praying about it. But this just shows that they are unaware that there are projects that can only
get done through prayer. For example, someone who has a headache can be prayed for and get
healed, alternatively, he can also take drugs and also get cured. But when it comes to diseases
like late-stage cancer, the real power of prayer will shine through. Because, in this case, prayer
will do what medicine cannot.

Those things that only prayer can do are the primary reason why we pray. One of the things that
only prayer can work for is the work of ministry. The ministry of Jesus is distinct. You can't win
souls and raise disciples without prayer. If you try doing ministry without prayer, you will end up
gathering crowds that don't know the Lord. But if you want to produce the kind of people Jesus
and the apostles produced, you must give yourself to prayer.

Confession: I'm excited about prayer. I'm a person of prayer. Prayer is not an option for me.
It's a way of life for me and also my lifeline. I will never give up on prayer for whatever
reason.

Day 2 2nd July, 2023

PRAYER PROJECTS
Key Texts: Luke 18:1, Romans 12:11-12, Colossians 4:2,12

Yesterday we saw that the work of ministry (preaching the gospel and raising disciples for Christ)
can't be done without prayer. You must understand that ministry is service to men, to people and
it takes the power of God to transform a man's life. That power is made available in prayer. This is
why as children of God and ministers of the gospel (2 Cor 5:17-19), we must consistently take on
prayer projects: projects we take on in prayer and see through till they are accomplished.

Now, the work of ministry is certainly a prayer project, and it’s an ongoing project seeing as
people are constantly being born on the earth, and the devil is consistently fighting to ensure
that they don't get saved or grow spiritually. It, therefore means that there will never come a time
when prayer won't be needed. You pray to birth revival, and you need to keep praying to sustain
the revival. When you stop praying, the revival will end.

If you desire to be a person who always prays, you should be more concerned about the result of
prayer than the length of time. As long as you are focused on what prayer does, you won't be
bothered about the duration of the prayer or frequency of prayer because you have a goal. You
must build a prayer discipline because if you don’t, you won’t have a consistent prayer life, and
prayer must be consistent. Prayer is like every other thing you do daily. You brush daily, eat daily,
and take your bath daily. If you see prayer in that same light, there's no way you won't endeavour
to pray daily.

If you want to see more people turn to God and be given to the gospel through your ministry,
prayer must become your lifestyle. Most times, the reason you don't pray is that you see prayer as
something that can be skipped. If you see prayer the way you see food and water, you won't find
it so easy to skip your prayer times. Change your thinking about prayer from seeing it as
something that can be missed to something that must be done, and then you will see the power
of prayer.

Confession: I don't see prayer as something that I can miss. The work of ministry that I
received from the Lord at salvation depends on it. I won't neglect prayer, rather I will give
myself to prayer all through my lifetime on earth.

Further Reading: Matthew 26:36-45; Acts 6:1-8.

Day 3 3rd July, 2023

PRAYER PROJECTS
Key Texts: Ephesians 6:18, Colossians 1:9-11, 1 Thessalonians 5:17

Ministry is spiritual warfare, and since it is so, you can only fight it through spiritual means. And
so, like we’ve seen over the past few days, when it comes to the ministry of reconciling the lost
and discipling men for the Lord, prayer is needed more than any other thing.

You must understand that we are at war. The reason a lot of believers don't take prayer seriously
is that they don't understand this simple truth. Satan wants you to stop serving God and backslide
as a Christian. He is after every person on earth, and even much more after believers. As a
believer, he's actively seeking to gain an advantage over you, and one major way to ensure that
he doesn't gain that advantage over you is by praying always.

For example, the USA may not be actively at war with any country, but that doesn’t stop them
from spending billions of dollars on their military to stay ahead. Why? Because they don't want to
be taken advantage of‌. Always be mindful that Satan is always looking for an opportunity to take
advantage of you. He desired to sift Peter like wheat even after he had been with Jesus for 3 and a
half years (Luke 22:31). This shows that prayer projects are ongoing because the devil is always
attacking, and there is a need to always resist him. Peter's refusal to pray made him fall into the
temptation that Jesus warned him about.

No matter the progress a person has made in their Christian life, they can't come to the point
where they won't need prayer again. Paul kept praying for Timothy, even when Timothy was now
ordaining bishops. Paul understood that Satan doesn't give up. After tempting Jesus, he left him
for a season (Lk 4:13). If you resist the devil and he flees and you go to relax, he will still come
back. So, ensure that you don't stop praying because once you stop praying, falling is only a
matter of time.

Confession: Prayer is not an option for me. It is a cardinal part of my life. Prayer is the way to
stay serving the Lord. It is my advantage in life. So, I will never give up on praying at any stage
of my life.

Further Reading: Ephesians 1:1-23; Ephesians 3:14-21.

Day 4 4th July, 2023

PRAYER PROJECTS
Key Texts: Matthew 26:36-45, Acts 6:4

Seeing that ministry involves men, and these men have their desires, plans, and pursuits, you need
to stay in prayer consistently to get them to change their minds to serve God. The man that wants to
change men's lives with the gospel must understand that it is not a hit-and-run project. Rather, it is a
marathon.

You must pray through to get the result of what you are praying for. No matter how long you have
prayed, if you give up without receiving answers to your prayers, your experience will be like the
experience of someone who didn't pray at all. This is because you didn't stay praying till you got what
you are praying for.

Before Jesus started His ministry, He prayed for forty days. Throughout His ministry life, He was
found praying, and even the night that He was arrested, He was also praying. He started His ministry
with prayer and ended it with prayer. This is how you should be as a believer. Prayer is not just to
start the work of ministry, it is also needed to continue in and to end it. Jesus didn't relax when he
was rounding off His ministry, rather, He even prayed more intensely.

When Jesus took some of His disciples to pray in the garden of Gethsemane, they slept throughout
the prayer meeting. But after they understood the importance of prayer, they said that they will give
themselves to prayer and the ministry of the word. Serving God has to do with soul-winning and
discipling men for Christ. And having seen that you can't change men by your own power, you
shouldn't see prayer as an option in your life, rather you should see prayer as a necessity.

Confession: God has called me to win souls and disciple men for Him. And human power can't
accomplish this task. It can only be accomplished by God's power, and this power is made
available in prayer. Therefore, I will give myself to prayer all the days of my life.

Further Reading: Luke 22:39-46; James 5:13-18.

Day 5 5th July, 2023

PRAYER PROJECTS
Key Texts: Genesis 18:17-33, Luke 18:1

In our text today, we see how Abraham prayed for the deliverance of the city of Sodom, but didn't
prevail in the prayer. If he has continued with his request, he would have secured Sodom's
deliverance, but he stopped at some point when he must’ve felt like he had done enough.
Unfortunately, the result he got in his prayer for Sodom is the same result as someone who didn't
pray at all. The reason is that he ended the prayer when he hadn't gotten the result.
You mustn’t abandon your prayer projects halfway. Otherwise, you’d get the same results as
someone who didn't pray.

Jesus started His ministry with 40 days of fasting and prayer, and prayed all through His ministry
days, including the night He was arrested. His 40 days, in the beginning, didn't exempt Him from
praying all through, and praying all through didn't exempt Him from praying the night He was
arrested. You start with prayer, continue with prayer, and end with prayer. No matter what, there
should not be any time when you stop praying.

Prayer produces miracles. There is no person given to prayer who doesn't consistently see miracles.
You should have prayer projects. You should pick up cases. Maybe you are in an area where almost
everybody is smoking or committing fornication. You can take up that prayer project and pray until
the gospel prevails in that area. Your reaction shouldn't just be to look down on them. You should
be compassionate enough to take up the matter in prayer and pray through!

God knows how to change people, He just needs men who will pray. If there are people you have
given up on, you can take their matter up again in prayer. Stay on their matter until you see them
know and serve the Lord.

Confession: Prayer is my lifestyle. I believe strongly in the power of prayer. Prayer can do
anything that God can do. I am not a person that gives up in prayer, rather I stay praying until I
get the job done.

Day 6 6th July, 2023

THE BELIEVER’S CONFESSION

Key Text: Luke 4:1-13
Jesus’ temptation is a crucial story for every believer to learn from. First, it teaches us that
temptations will always come. If Jesus was tempted, we would be tempted, too. And if Jesus
overcame, then we can overcome too. Jesus was coming from forty days of fasting. Yet, Satan
still came to tempt him. This goes to show that prayer will help you overcome temptation, but it
will not stop temptation from coming. Temptations will always come.

There is a notion lots of people have, that Jesus’ temptation was physical. That is, the devil came
to him physically in the wilderness and spoke to him. But that’s not true. The temptation of
Jesus happened exactly how ours happen — in His mind. The amazing thing was that Jesus was
able to distinguish who was speaking to Him. He knew it was the devil.

Sometimes in your life, you may have a conversation with Satan in your mind but you attribute
it to yourself. When you rehearse previous hurts and offenses in your mind, Satan may be
whispering to you and fuelling your anger. The average believer doesn’t know when it’s Satan
talking. They listen, thinking it’s their mind. The devil never takes credit for anything. He lets
you buy the thought. He likes to isolate you makes you feel you’re weak and convinces you that
you’re the only one who’s weak and nobody else understands.

However, the child of God shouldn’t walk by his feelings. We see Jesus’ response to the
temptations. He spoke. Loud and clear and defiantly. Bring the devil to a talking game. Don’t
respond to him in your mind. Talk away the fears, talk away the defeat that he brings to your
mind. Make up your mind that the devil will never find your mouth silent even if your heart is
shaking. When you face temptations, remember to talk. Speak God's word loudly and drown
the devil’s whispers in your mind.
Confession: I overcome temptations with my words. I don’t cower in the face of temptations.
I speak boldly. I drown the devil’s voice in my mind. I don’t own the thoughts of the devil. I
refuse to accept the devil’s ideas and opinions. I walk by the word. I live by the word. I speak
God’s word always.

Day 7 7th July, 2023

THE BELIEVER’S CONFESSION

Key Texts: Mark 11:12-14, 20-24

Today, we’ll look at creating things with our words. Our words carry the power to create. Just
like God spoke to the darkness in creation and light came out, we can speak to circumstances
and see miracles. In our key text, we see Jesus’ experience with the fig tree. He spoke to it but
it didn’t wither right away. The disciples probably didn’t even think that it was possible to
speak to a tree! But fast forward to vs.20, we see that the tree was withered. While that was
awesome and amazing and the disciples were in awe of Jesus, we see that there’s a formula
that Jesus gives us.

First, He says to have faith in God, which is better read as to have the faith of God. The faith
of God is a speaking kind of faith. The faith of God speaks to the problem rather than
begging God to intervene. It’s the same kind of faith God used in creation when He spoke
things into existence. Jesus says that whosoever would speak to the mountain and tell it to
be moved, and does not doubt in his heart, shall have what he says.

Upon a closer study, we see that in vs.23, it reads that whosoever shall command the
mountain to move and not doubt in his heart but believes that those things he keeps saying
will come to pass, he shall have what he commanded. This means that the faith of God
doesn’t just entail a one-time speaking. After commanding the situation to change, you
should keep speaking what you want and you’ll have them.

The mountain in your case may be a sickness, a financial challenge, or any other issue. Your
response shouldn’t be to cry and wail in unbelief under the guise of begging God to help you.
No. You speak to the problem and command it to work in your favour. And most
importantly, you keep saying what you have commanded, and you will have what you say.

Confession: My words carry the power of God. My words can make the dead come to
life. My words can change circumstances and produce miracles. I have the faith of God!
Hallelujah!

Day 8 8th July, 2023

THE BELIEVER’S CONFESSION

Key Text: Rom. 4:16-22
In our key text, we see Abraham’s story. Vs. 20 says that he staggered not at the promise of God but was
giving glory to God. Abraham knew that at that age, he was old and nothing could happen. He couldn’t
naturally give birth to a child. But because God had made a promise to him, he put away every other
consideration and believed in God.

God had first changed his name to make him confess that promise in his daily life. So, every time he was
called Abraham, Father of many nations instead of Abram, he was reminded of God’s promise. Eventually,
Abraham saw the fulfilment of that promise. You can see that in your life too. Every day, make out a
specific time to speak God's word over yourself, your ministry, and over your body. Do not leave it to
chance. Choose a time and consecrate it to speaking. Also, make a habit of speaking God's word as you go
about your daily activities.

When the world looks like it’s uninterested in serving God, you say, “My generations and coming
generations will serve Jesus. Darkness will not advance further. My hands will be on the plough till Jesus
returns.”
Say, “I refuse to fear. The power of God is working through me to heal the sick. I refuse to accommodate
sickness in my body. I refuse to accommodate depression in my mind. I refuse to accommodate fear.”

And when you feel overwhelmed by everything happening in the world, your response will be to speak. “I
refuse the pressure of this age. That pressure to be like everyone else, I refuse it.”
When offenses come, you keep talking: “I don’t hold grudges. The love of God has been shed abroad in my
heart. I can only forgive.”
The believer must be bold with his words once it correlates with the scriptures. The believer is talkative.
Speak the word over and over again until circumstances budge. Talk yourself into who you want to be,
God's man.

Confession: I’m the righteousness of God. I’m holy and set apart for God. I’m separated for the
Father’s use. I’m His will for the lost ones. I’m a missionary. On my knees, I’m a missionary.
Every time my knees hit the floor, the gospel prevails in far lands. God has not left us helpless.
He knows what’s going on.

Day 9 9th July, 2023

THE BELIEVER’S CONFESSION

Key Texts: Josh. 1:1-9, Ps.77:12

When we talk of the Christian confession, we’re not talking of mindless ramblings. We’re
talking of words that come from a deep conviction in your heart. Words that have been
birthed from your conviction of God's word. Meditation is not a mind sport as society has
made us falsely believe. It is more than sitting quietly in one spot and closing your eyes.
Bible meditation is primarily talking.

Joshua.1:8 says that the book of the law should not depart from your mouth but you shall
meditate on it day and night. If it says the book of the law should not depart from your
mouth, but you should meditate, then it means that meditation is with the mouth. One of
the Bible translations for meditation means to roar. This was a Jewish culture of standing on
a tower or a mountain and shouting the scriptures from there.

In our time, we may not be able to scream the word from a tower.
But sometimes, you take a walk and you just talk. You can say it quietly if the place is
crowded. But in a free place, you can scream it too. Have you noticed that your heart listens
to your mouth? Remember times when you’re downcast and sad and you just say you’ve got
joy over and over and then you’re off in a twinkle, screaming and laughing in joy.

God gave you your mouth to lead your body, your emotions, and your feelings. They’re all
subject to your mouth. And so, don’t hesitate to use it. No matter what the problem is, put
God’s word in your mouth. When you study the word, take down the verses you want to
meditate on and say them aloud.

Confession: God’s word is constantly in my mouth. I keep speaking of what God has
said about me. I delight in meditating on the word.

Further Reading: Ps. 77:11-15, Ps. 63:1-6, Gen. 24:63

Day 10 10th July, 2023

THE BELIEVER’S CONFESSION

Key Text: Num 13:21-33

Speaking God’s word can almost look like you’re fighting a battle. Especially with something
like sickness. It doesn’t mean that you wouldn’t ever say what is wrong. It just means that
you’ll say what is wrong in the light of your victory over it. Just like the children of Israel sent to
spy out the land. The first set of people just spoke about the impossibilities and even though
what they said was true, the Bible calls it an evil report. Why? Because they spoke from a place
of fear, doubt, and unbelief. However, Joshua and Caleb said that even though there were
giants in the land, God would deliver the land to them as He had promised.

In the same way, concerning sickness, it means that when someone asks if you're still ill, you
may say yes the sickness is still there, but you agree that the power of God is working and it’s
going to leave. When you command sickness to go, you’ll keep saying it and then you’ll have
what you commanded. It’s not a one-off thing. What you say after you’ve prayed must tally
with what you prayed for. The devil can’t stop you, don’t stop yourself either. You’re to stay
with your confession. You are full of faith.

The believer already has faith. (2 Pet.1:1, Gal. 6:10). Everyone in the family of God has faith
common to them. You are born with faith and so you’re to use the faith. Faith is for using. It’s
not a feeling. You have to speak with faith. (2 Cor. 4:13). We have power also; (Eph.1:17-21,
Eph.3:19-20)

So, since there’s no power or faith deficiency for the believer, what is left is your mouth. You’re
to speak and keep speaking what you want. Sickness is not of the Father so you refuse to allow
it. Stand your ground. We receive the sick healed, the dead raised and the world reached for
Jesus. Hallelujah!

Confession: I have healing in my body. God’s power is working in me. I refuse to give an
evil report. I say what God has and will do despite the situation.

Day 11 11th July, 2023

WALKING WITH GOD

Key Texts: 1 Corinthians 1:9, John 14:16-20

The lifestyle of the believer is originally designed as a walk with God. God intends that every
Christian walks with Him daily. Jesus lived an everyday supernatural life. His life was full of
the influence of God. In this study, we'll see what it means to walk with God.

Your walking with God has always been His intention. In John 14:20, Jesus told His disciples
that at the resurrection, they’ll know that they dwell in Him and He in them, and from our
first key text, the Bible says that God called us into fellowship with His son Jesus. God
initiated a relationship with you at salvation by giving you His Spirit. 1 John 1:3 explains that
you have fellowship with the Father. Your walk with God comes from this fellowship.

Ephesians 1:13 explains that you have the Spirit of God in you. This is God coming to
fellowship with you. It has always been His plan. Therefore, you must know that your walk
with God is first of all His desire. God wants you to walk with Him and has placed this same
desire in your heart. That lifestyle of the supernatural, where you get men saved, healed,
and filled with the Holy Ghost is of God. They are holy desires and you must nurture them.
You must act on them. See them as God's call for you to walk with Him.

The Spirit of God in you will continuously stir up those desires. You shouldn't neglect them.
Sometimes, it comes with an urge to pray or study the Word. It's a call from God to stay with
Him, you should obey them. God has called you to walk with Him. He gave you His Spirit to
stir that desire in you. Will you answer God’s call today? Will you walk with God?

Prayer: Dear Father, thank you for your word. Thank you for your spirit, for I’m in
fellowship with you. I choose to walk with you just as you desire for me. Thank you,
Father, Amen.

Day 12 12th July, 2023

WALKING WITH GOD

Key Texts: Acts 1:8, 2 Corinthians 5:17-21

Our previous study showed that God has given you His Spirit. The Holy Ghost in your heart is proof
of God’s desire to walk with you. By His Spirit, He stirs you up to desire Him. A practical walk with
God involves the things God is involved with. Walking with God is primarily seen in ministry. You
can’t walk with God without getting involved with ministry.

Our key text reads “But you shall receive power after the Holy Ghost has come upon you, and you
shall be witnesses unto me…unto the uttermost part of the earth”. Jesus implies that you have
received the spirit to be a witness. Being a witness to Christ is to preach His gospel. Witnessing is
doing ministry. God hasn’t come into fellowship with you for nothing, He has given you His Spirit
to do ministry. Therefore, if you will walk with God, you must do ministry. Ministry is the center of
walking with God.

2 Corinthians 5:19 says you have received a ministry from God, and He also gave you His Spirit. This
means that your fellowship with Him will revolve around ministry. Ministry is preaching the
gospel, raising disciples for Jesus, and demonstrating His power.

Our perfect example is Jesus. He was God in the flesh. All the records we have of Jesus were
ministry related. We either saw Him teaching, or healing the sick. The four gospels are full of His
ministry works. Jesus had the perfect walk with God, and the record of His walk with God is
ministry. This means to walk with God daily is to do ministry daily. You can’t have a walk with God
and be irresponsible with His ministry. Your walk with God is tied to your ministry. This is God’s
plan for you.

Prayer: Dear Father, thank you for your word. Thank you for your spirit, for I’m in fellowship
with you. I choose to walk with you and fulfill my ministry. Thank you, Father, Amen.

Day 13 13th July, 2023

WALKING WITH GOD

Key Texts: Acts 9:1-19, Matthew 28:18-20
A fruitful walk with God will always birth ministry. No man has ever walked with God without
getting involved with ministry. Yesterday, we saw the example of Jesus. He had a perfect walk
with God and the fruit of that walk was ministry. The Apostles also had this same experience.
They walked with God and had tangible ministry results. Their walk with God blessed many
lives.

In Acts 3, the Bible records that Peter and John were heading to the temple at the hour of
prayer. They had a time set to fellowship with God in prayer. It was on their way to pray that
they got a crippled man healed. That miracle was from a place of fellowship with God. They
had a set time to fellowship with God in prayer. They had done it so much that miracles were
inevitable, and that miracle brought in five thousand souls that day. Such impact!

Our key text shows us Ananias who had a walk with God. The Bible called him a certain disciple
meaning he wasn’t an apostle like Peter and John, he was only a believer. Jesus appeared to
him in a vision and instructed Him to get Saul healed and filled with the Holy Ghost. You see,
Ananias had such a walk with God that Jesus could depend on. He conversed with Jesus, He
had a walk with Him. He wasn’t terrified when Jesus spoke. He didn’t see himself unworthy,
but went ahead and got Saul healed. This is what it means to have a walk with God.

Ananias was not an Apostle, but Jesus entrusted Paul to him and Paul became a great minister
of the gospel. You have the Holy Ghost just like Anaias, and Jesus can bless lives through you,
but you must give yourself to ministry.

Prayer: Thank you Father for your word. I desire that You bless lives through me
therefore, I choose to fulfill the ministry You have given me. I commit to this today till
the end. Thank you, Father. Amen

Day 14 14th July, 2023

WALKING WITH GOD

Key Texts: 1 Thessalonians 5:17, Romans 12:12
Walking with God is a consistent practice, it isn’t something that is done occasionally. It is a daily
endeavour. It is devotion. Throughout the Bible, those who stood out were men who were consistent
with their devotion.

Those who walk with God are those who fellowship with Him daily. The practice of walking with God
is first seen in our devotion to Him in our private life, before the public. Men who walk with God have
a life of devotion. They don’t just walk with God where people see them, they do it even when they are
alone.

In Mark 1:35, the Bible tells us that Jesus went out and departed to a solitary place to pray. He wasn’t
doing this for anyone. In Luke 5:16, He withdrew Himself into the wilderness to pray. In Luke 6:12, He
went out to pray on the mountain and continued all night. This was Jesus. His walk with God was
personal to Him. He had no one to impress here. The apostles learnt this from Him. This was why they
could prioritize prayer in Acts 6. They learnt that commitment from Jesus.

Your walk with God is your most prized possession as a believer, and you must value it as such. You
must give yourself to it daily. Jesus prayed daily. He had times designated to fellowship with God in
prayers. You should have the same for yourself.

You must be given to your devotion both in prayers and in the study of the word. You should have
times when you pray and read the word. This is how you nurture your walk with God. Doing this
renews your mind daily, and also makes you effective in ministry. Your walk with God is personal, so
you must devote yourself personally to see it flourish.

Prayer: Thank you, Father, for your word. I desire that you bless lives through me
therefore, I choose to fulfill the ministry you have given me. I commit to this today till the
end. Thank you, Father. Amen.

Day 15 15th July, 2023

WALKING WITH GOD

Key Text: Matthew 14:13-23

Walking with God was initiated by God when He gave you His Spirit. He has always
wanted to walk with you. He has come to fellowship with you by giving you His Spirit and
He expects that His fellowship with you should birth forth ministry. Ministry is proof of a
solid walk with God. God didn’t choose only apostles or prophets to walk with Him, He
chose you. Your commitment to this walk should be seen in your commitment to your
devotion.

Yesterday, we saw that Jesus was known for praying. He always maintained His devotion.
He wasn’t carried away by the success of His ministry. He knew that everything mattered
because of the Father. You should do the same. You must not be distracted.

In our key text today, Jesus had just fed the five thousand men with five loaves and two
fishes, but He went to pray after that. This means no result should keep you away from
fellowship with God. In the Book of Acts, we find the apostles always going back to the
Lord in prayers. In Acts 4, they went to pray after they were threatened by the Pharisees.
In Acts 6, they gave themselves continually to prayers, despite all the miracles they had
seen. In Acts 13, they ministered to the Lord.

God has called you to ministry, but first to Himself. You must not forget who sent you.
You must keep your walk with Him. God has called you to walk with Him because you
can’t run on your strength. Your walk with Him is what keeps you going, it is what
strengthens you. No matter the results you get in ministry, you must always maintain
your walk with God.

Prayer: Thank you, Father, for your word. I ask for the grace to nurture my walk with you. I
refuse to forget that you have called me to have a walk with you. I remain conscious of this
always. Amen.

Day 16 16th July, 2023

THE NEED FOR PRAYER

Key Text: Mark 16:15-18
One thing you must dream and aspire to as a Christian and a minister of the gospel is to be a
person of prayer. You have to have a prayer life with depth. You can't attempt the Christian
life without prayer. It won't work. The reason is that the Christian life is a supernatural life
from beginning to end.

There is nothing in the Christian faith that is natural. First of all, you believe that God
became a man, died for you, resurrected, and is living in you now. These are all supernatural
facts. They don't make any sense to the natural mind. The ministry you also received from
the Lord is supernatural. There is nothing natural about a man receiving the Spirit of God
after believing the gospel you preached to him, or putting your hands on a sick person, and
seeing the sickness healed.

What Jesus called us to do from start to finish is supernatural. This means that you can't
attempt it without depending on God. And you can't depend on God without prayer. Prayer
is proof of dependency on God. You must understand that your Christian life is different
from natural endeavours. You can succeed in business, career, school, marriage, etc.,
without prayer. But, you can't do supernatural endeavours without prayer.

In ministry, you will meet different kinds of people, ranging from smokers, drug addicts,
cultists, prostitutes, gays, people with different addictions, etc. And there are no natural
means to transform the lives of these people. You can only transform them by the power of
God. So, prayer is not an option for you, rather, it's the only way you can get the work done.
Having seen that transforming lives will require the power of God. You must ensure that
you maintain a strong and consistent prayer life.

Confession: I have received a supernatural faith, and a supernatural ministry also. I will never
depend on my power to do the work, because my power will surely fail me. I will depend solely
on the power of God. I will give myself to prayer all the days of my life.

Day 17 17th July, 2023

THE NEED FOR PRAYER

Key Texts: Luke 18:1, Ephesians 6:18, Luke 22:31-46

Prayer cannot be a once-in-a-while thing for you as a Christian. If you will live a victorious
Christian life and transform people's lives, you must pray always. Ministry was built in such
a way that you will need God's help to succeed in it. Prayer is your life wire. You can't get
anything done in ministry without prayer.

You have to adjust to the fact that your life is a life of prayer. You shouldn't be seeing
prayer as punishment. People should know that there are certain times of the day when
you can't pick up your calls because you are praying. In prayer, you must learn to persevere
because it is by persevering that you get the job done. The devil is very active in seeing that
you don't serve God and that those people you want to serve God don't serve Him. But if
you persevere in prayer you will serve God and also get men to serve God.

Jesus told Peter that Satan desired to sift him like wheat. This was Peter that has been with
Jesus for three and a half years. He has cast out devils and healed the sick, yet Satan was
still after him. This shows that there is no level you will get to in your Christian walk where
the devil will leave you alone. He's always after you. That's why you must keep praying
because prayer is your defense. You are at war.

Make up your mind today to take your prayer life seriously. Do everything to build a
consistent and strong prayer life, if your prayer life is strong and consistent backsliding will
be difficult for you.

Confession: I am not ignorant of the devil's devices. I know that I am not helpless before
him. God has given me prayer as one of my weapons against the devil. I will take
advantage of this weapon of prayer all the days of my life.

Day 18 18th July, 2023

THE NEED FOR PRAYER

Key Texts: Matthew 26: 31-46, 2 Timothy 4:10, Colossians 4:14

One thing the man that wants to do the will of God must settle in his heart is that he can't do it by
his willpower. It takes the power and the strength of God to do the will of God. And it is in prayer
that you take on God's strength. When it was time for Jesus to die, He knew that he couldn't do it
by His own will, so He went to take on strength in the place of prayer. So, desiring to do the will of
God is not enough. You must back up your desire with prayer.

When Jesus told Peter that he would deny him three times, Peter didn't believe it. He was
determined not to do it. But because he didn't pray when Jesus took them to pray, he ended up
denying Jesus. Even though Peter had cast out devils and healed the sick, he still denied Jesus. This
shows that anytime a believer stops praying, Satan will take advantage of the believer. This is
exactly what happened to Peter.

Another example is Demas. Demas was a minister of the gospel. He was a companion of Paul in
ministry. But he later abandoned Paul and forsook ministry. This shows that Demas, at some
point, stopped praying. And because he stopped praying he became vulnerable to the devil, and
the devil succeeded in taking him away from ministry.

So, as a believer, you must understand that prayer is an ongoing project, and the project won't
finish until you leave this earth. There is an ongoing war between you and the devil, and without
prayer, you can't win that war. Once you stop praying Satan will stop you from serving God. So,
don't get weary of prayer. Your Christian life depends on it.

Confession: I am a person of prayer. I won't leave prayer to rely on my human will and strength.
I depend on prayer to do the will of God. I won't fail in ministry. I will serve the Lord till the end
of my life.

Day 19 19th July, 2023

THE NEED FOR PRAYER

Key Text: 1 Kings 17:1,1 Kings 18:1 & 41-46
Elijah was a human being like you, which means he liked food, sleep, gist, relaxation, and other
natural things human beings like. But what made the difference in his life was that he gave
himself to prayer. This means that during the times Elijah prayed, there were other things he
would have loved to do as a human being. But he put all those other things aside to pray.

People who give themselves to prayer don't do so because they are jobless. There is something
else they would have done with their time. They would have loved to sleep, gist, press their
phones, watch movies, etc. But they always set all these things aside to pray. You too can be that
way. You must understand that prayer will never appeal to your senses. Prayer only appeals to
your spirit. So, don't ever think that people that pray all the time do it because they always feel like
doing it. You must develop the discipline to pray whether or not you're "feeling it".

You should be excited about prayer because prayer is an opportunity to bring God's power into a
matter. Prayer goes beyond the limit of your humanity. The reason why rain didn't fall for three
and half years, according to the word of Elijah, was because Elijah prayed. He didn't just come out
to talk, he prayed first. Also, when he wanted to bring back the rain, he went to pray again. Even
though God had told him that He would send rain, he still prayed. This showed that God saying
something doesn't mean it will happen automatically.

God always needs men that will birth forth His purposes and plans on the earth. Make up your
mind today to be that man/woman that will birth forth God's plans on earth through prayer.

Confession: God has said that the earth will be covered by the knowledge of His glory (gospel) as
water covers the sea. I am part of the people that will birth forth this plan of God in prayer. I am
committed to praying for this will of God all the days of my life.

Day 20 20th July, 2023

THE NEED FOR PRAYER

Key Text: Ephesians 6:10-20
One thing you must understand is that you are at war with the devil. He's always looking for an
opportunity to one-up you. He always looks for your weak and unguarded moments to attack. This
is why you need to pray always because prayer makes you strong and keeps you on guard all the
time.

Seeing that you are at war with the devil, you are instructed to put on the whole armour of God.
And this whole armour of God is the knowledge of God's word. This knowledge of God's word
equips you for prayer. So, you can see that everything boils down to prayer. If you don't pray you
won't walk in the reality of God's word that you know, and this will make you vulnerable to Satan's
attack. Prayer is also a way you exercise your authority as a believer.

The believer's authority is useless if the believer who has it doesn't pray. It's like giving a man a gun
and he refuses to shoot. A believer who doesn't understand his authority but is willing to pray will
have more victory than the one who understands his authority but is unwilling to pray. Someone
who has a gun and doesn't know how to shoot but is willing to shoot is more dangerous than one
who has a gun, and knows how to shoot but is unwilling to shoot.

Prayer is inevitable if you want to have a victorious Christian life. Satan wants to make you as
ineffective as possible. He doesn't want you to preach and win souls for Christ. He wants to keep
you in sin and ensure that your conduct is a disaster. You must do everything to have a strong and
consistent prayer life because that's the only way you will live the victorious life that God ordained
for you.

Confession: I'm not ignorant of Satan's devices. I know he specializes in deceit. I don't wallow
in ignorance. I am the man given to the study of God's word and prayer. I don't joke with my
prayer life. I will have a victorious life all through.

Day 21 21st July, 2023

REMEMBERING GOD’S FAITHFULNESS

Key Text: Psalms 103:1-5

Most times, the sadness in our Christian life is because we are forgetful. This is failing to
remember the good things God has done. In our key text, David tasks his soul not to
forget the benefits of the Lord, showing that it's possible to forget the Lord's blessings.
He said, "Bless the Lord O my soul, and forget not His benefits." He put himself in a
position to recall God's goodness. Learn to do the same.

If you can remember the good things God has done, your life will be full of joy. Being
forgetful will lead to fear, anxiety, and uncertainty in approaching new challenges.
When David faced Goliath, he remembered the faithfulness of God in dealing with the
lion and the bear in the past. With that knowledge of God's faithfulness, he was
confident to face the giant; and he won.

In the Bible, the psalmists kept reminding the Israelites of the good things God had
done. They used their psalms to sing of God's goodness and were deliberate about
remembering. They had a record of the things God had done. There are memories you
should preserve. Those testimonies of God's kindness to you. You didn't deserve them,
but God came through for you.

Your days must be full of thanksgiving, reminding yourself what the Lord forgave you of
and who you used to be. God forgave your sins. You could have gone to hell, but He gave
Himself for you. He gave you His Spirit. Romans 5:8 says you were a sinner, but Jesus
died for your sins. He gave you what you couldn't give yourself. You should always
maintain a grateful heart to the Lord. Be like David, not forgetting the Lord's benefits.

Prayer: Thank you, Father, for your word. Today, I choose to remain grateful and
full of thanks for all that you have done for me in Christ. Thank you, Father. Amen.

Day 22 22nd July, 2023

REMEMBERING GOD’S FAITHFULNESS

Key Text: Luke 7:37-45
The salvation of a Christian comes with joy. Salvation is God's greatest gift to the
believer, yet, some Christians do not experience the Joy of salvation. This is because they
do not remember the wages of their sins. In our text today, Jesus uses a parable to teach
that a person who understands what he was saved from will have a higher sense of
gratitude. The harlot knew of her many sins.

Just like this woman, Jesus forgave you of your sins. He washed and cleansed you with
His blood, but you may have forgotten. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 explains what you were
before you were washed, sanctified, and justified by the Holy Ghost. When you forget
what God did for you in Christ, you will take it for granted. The Spirit of God in you won't
mean much to you anymore if you have forgotten. In Ephesians 2:1-3, Paul reminds you
how empty your life was before Christ.

God didn't love you in ignorance, He knew the depth of your rebellion, the height, and
the perverseness of your sins, yet He loved you unconditionally and forgave you in Christ.
You should always thank God as though it just happened today. This is because His
forgiveness has continued, His mercies are new every morning.

You have a thousand and one reason to be thankful to God. You should cultivate a
lifestyle of thanksgiving. Be deliberate about being grateful. You deserved nothing, yet
God gave you everything. You should be grateful for that and always thank Him. You
must not forget the Lord's benefits.

Prayer: Thank you, Father, for your word. Today, I choose to remain grateful and
full of thanksgiving for all that you have done for me in Christ. Thank you, Father.
Amen.

Day 23 23rd July, 2023

REMEMBERING GOD’S FAITHFULNESS

Key Text: 1 Timothy 1:11-15

When Christians become forgetful, they lose the joy in their Christian walk. They become obsessed
with chasing other things and forget the most important things God has done for them; giving
Jesus to die for their sins, giving them the Holy Spirit, the gift of righteousness, and other in Christ
realities.

To overcome this forgetfulness, you must remember your past experiences with God. The apostle
Paul is a good example. He remembered who he was and what he had done, yet God enabled him
and counted him faithful, putting him in ministry. David spoke to himself not to forget God's
benefits. Believers can remind themselves of their supernatural encounters and do the same thing
David did.

There are many reasons to be grateful to God, such as being reconciled to Him through the blood of
Christ. When Christians deliberately remember God's blessings, Christianity becomes easy, and
there's no need to seek proof of God's faithfulness in the future. Instead, they will bless God for His
faithfulness in the past, just as David did when he faced Goliath.

Remember who you were before Christ touched your life, and how He transformed you. You may
not be where you want to be yet, but you know God has brought you this far. Don't get too obsessed
with your dreams that you forget to take out time to appreciate God for your growth thus far. If
nothing has happened at all, you have stayed through. Those times when you thought you would
give in, God came through for you. The devil thought he had you, but you're still studying the word.
It means you'll be fine. God has got you. This is enough reason to be thankful and to live in joy in
your Christian walk.

Prayer: Thank you, Father, for your word. Today, I choose to remain grateful and full of
thanks for all that you have done for me in Christ. Thank you, Father. Amen

Day 24 24th July, 2023

REMEMBERING GOD’S FAITHFULNESS

Key Texts: Joshua 4:1-7, Exodus 16:1-35

God places a premium on remembrance. In the Old Testament, there were remembrance
days marked by feasts or festivals, such as the feast of Passover, where they remembered
events that happened in the past. From our text, Joshua picked stones from Jordan to keep
a memorial of how God brought Israel past Jordan. Moses also asked Aaron to keep aside
some manna as a memorial that God fed His people for 40 years with manna. God
provided for the Israelites and they were wise to preserve that testimony. They had a
physical practice of keeping it in mind. They refused to forget.

You can also do the same. You can keep memorials of what God has done for you. Read
God's word to see what you have received in Christ. You can also write down your
testimonies as they strengthen your faith during tough times. Doing this will make it easier
for you to remember.

It's essential to remember the things God has done for you, especially salvation. Jesus died
for you a long time ago, but its implications are still present today. David was grateful for
God's forgiveness, and it's crucial to be thankful for it daily, as it still applies in our lives
today.

The man who understands salvation can never ask what he should thank the Lord for.
Without remembrance, the grace of God will look small to you. It's crucial to be conscious
of what you were saved from and remain grateful. You must maintain a heart of gratitude
towards the Lord for the salvation you have received.

Prayer: Thank you, Father, for your word. Today, I choose to remain grateful and full of
thanks for all that you have done for me in Christ. Thank you, Father. Amen.

Further Reading: Psalm 136:1-26

Day 25 25th July, 2023

REMEMBERING GOD’S FAITHFULNESS

Key Texts: Psalm 103:1-5, 1 Samuel 17:32-37

In ministering the power of God, our memory aids us. Remembering what the power of God has
done in the past through you or someone else will make you bolder and more effective in
ministering the same. When we say that someone has an "anointing" for healing deaf ears or any
other particular sickness, a lot of the time, it is simply that the person has a lot of experiences and
memories of healing that particular sickness. So, anytime such a problem is brought to them, they
are bold to minister, knowing that it is the same power of God.

Christians who don't burn out preserve God's goodness in their minds. Proper remembrance helps
faith. As you thank God for what He has done, you're able to believe for more. If the Israelites
weren't forgetful, they wouldn't have doubted God after seeing all the miracles done in Egypt, at
the Red Sea, and in the wilderness. When we always remember all the Lord has done for us, it's
easier to believe.

Be full of thanksgiving. It makes the mountains small. Every day you wake up, there is a reason to
thank God - for the forgiveness of sins, the Holy Ghost, the gift of righteousness, and His power at
work in you. You can sing and give thanks in His name. Your songs should be full of thanksgiving
for what God did for you in Christ. You can take 5, 10, or 20 minutes after praying to thank God
daily. It is not too much.

A person of prayer should also be a person of thanksgiving. If we are praying, that means the Lord is
always doing something, therefore the need to thank Him always. If you count your blessings, it
will surprise you what the Lord has done.

Prayer: Thank you, Father, for your word. Today, I choose to remain grateful and full of
thanks for all that you have done for me in Christ. I refuse to be forgetful. Thank you,
Father. Amen.

Day 26 26th July, 2023

MAKE YOUR LIFE COUNT

Key Text: 2 Cor.13:2-5

There’s the energy that comes with a new year, a new month, or a new day. It's a new beginning
and everyone has expectations. Those are times to sit down and take stock of what you have done
well and what you need to do better. Verse 5 of our key text speaks of examining ourselves. In a
new year or morning or new month, the world slows down so that you can check out your life and
make new resolutions.

You can have spiritual expectations and even secular expectations. People write down goals like “I
want to work out, read more books, study more, etc.” When you have all these goals, it will not
make any sense to keep doing what you were doing before and expect a different result. You
must either change what you're doing or be consistent with the efforts you're making toward
growth.

Anything that has to do with growth requires consistency. The first day you go to the gym you
don’t come out with super muscles. You’d come out with muscle pains instead. But to get your
result, you'll have to keep going there again and again. Growth will require not just doing the
right things but doing the right things consistently.

If you are going in the wrong direction, no matter how consistently you are walking in that
direction, you’ll never get to your destination. It’s not just enough to be consistent. It’s to do the
right things consistently. The good thing is, you can always start again. You may have already
forgotten your resolutions for the year or even for the month. But you can always start with every
new day. Today is a new day. Take stock of your life. Think about what should change and what
you should continue. And get to work!

Prayer: Lord, help me to take the new beginnings you offer. Help me to examine my life and
live like you want me to. Help me to be consistent in doing the right things and to walk worthy
of your calling. Amen.

Day 27 27th July, 2023

MAKE YOUR LIFE COUNT

Key Text: Eph. 5:14-16

The word ‘circumspectly’ is to be diligent and careful. To live life carelessly is equivalent to
behaving unwisely. There should be a carefulness in our walk as believers. Most bad things
that happen to us were not in our plans. They’re just a result of carelessness. A consequence
of not paying attention.

You can’t have a good Christian life without being careful. The man in Christ has to walk
according to the word. You have to be careful to do that. Part of being careful is that you will
meditate on God’s word for yourself. You would not let sleep become a luxury instead of a
necessity. You’ll literally have an alarm clock in your soul that wakes you up to pray.

In Gal. 3:1, Apostle Paul called the Galatian church fools. He had already preached the
gospel to them and explained everything about the Spirit to them, but some other people
came to refute everything he had said and they believed the people. Hence, it’s possible for
a man who’s born again to act foolishly. This happens when the believer is not walking
carefully. A careful walk would mean that your conduct is not thoughtless or careless.

As a Christian, you should look at the way you conduct yourself and know whether you’re
wise. Look at your company. Who are the people you hang out with most often? Who
inspires your actions? The Bible says that evil communication will corrupt good manners.
You must be careful to not let the wrong company get into your life. Be watchful when you
start talking to the wrong people. Be watchful when they start influencing you, even in
subtle things. Remember, if God says to walk circumspectly, then it’s a revelation that you
actually can!

Confession: I am careful in my walk. I am not foolish. I am wise. I conduct myself in a

way that pleases God. Amen.

Day 28 28th July, 2023

MAKE YOUR LIFE COUNT

Key Text: Eph. 5:14-15

Redeeming the time in our key text refers to a ransom. You pay a price to get back something
important. But it doesn’t quite make sense to redeem or ransom time. So what does Paul mean?
Time in that verse is the Greek word ‘Kairos’, which can also refer to opportunities and moments.
So, to redeem time means to take advantage of the opportunities and moments in our lives. We
have the responsibility to make every moment count.

If you had two years to prepare for an exam and you don’t read, those years didn’t count. It is
wasted or lost as long as the exam is concerned. The two years were not ransomed. It’s of no
value. So, only time used well has value. Only the time properly used has any significance. The
only useful time is the time redeemed. In your Christian walk, the only time that matters in
eternity is the time you used for spiritual things. The only times we buy or ransom are the times
properly used.

Imagine you’re on a bus going somewhere and you decide to preach. The people you see on that
bus may never get to meet you again for the rest of their lives. But you would have used that one
moment to change their lives forever. You must understand that time is not in your hands.
Whether you use it wisely or not, time will pass.

Even the person you’re sent to preach to will eventually die, so there’s a time frame within which
you can reach him. You’ll not always have time. So you must learn to use the time you have very
wisely. Take advantage of every moment. Treat time as Kairos - an opportunity to take advantage
of. Live your life with a sense of urgency to use each moment wisely for the glory of God.

Confession: I understand that some seasons are crucial and I take advantage of those moments.
I am wise. not slothful with my ministry.

Day 29 29th July, 2023

MAKE YOUR LIFE COUNT

Key Text: 1 Tim. 4:9-16

‘Seducing spirits’ in our key text is in reference to a doctrine. Wrong doctrine that draws
men away from the truth of the gospel. The Bible says to be careful not to give in to wrong
doctrine. This seduction only happens when you’re not paying attention. If you don’t pay
attention, you’ll be easily distracted.

A man can get into error by not paying attention. Spiritual growth requires you to take
heed. It doesn't just happen. Apostle Paul writes to ministers of the gospel in Acts. 20:28 to
take heed to themselves and their flock. Sometimes, these distractions may even be
legitimate. In Luke. 9:57- 62, we see that these men had legitimate excuses but Jesus said
that His kingdom comes first.

No excuse was good enough. The seventy He appointed right after in Chapter 10 were
people that passed the test of priority. The man who wanted to go and bury his father felt
like he had time, but he didn’t. The Lord takes priority. No matter what you’re doing. It’s the
Lord first. You’re at war and you can’t afford to get distracted at war. Because the enemy
wants to take advantage of your distracted moments. You must stay focused. Pay attention
to what’s happening and what you’re allowing.

Make up your mind to be careful in your walk with God. Know when your devotion is
getting less fervent. Know when you’re losing value for sound doctrine. Know when you’re
getting bored with the things of God. And fix it. Get to work! The good thing is, God is there
to help you. His grace is ever sufficient for you.

Prayer: Lord, help me to keep my focus on you. Help me not to give in to the distractions
of this world and age. Lord help me to focus on your call for my life and to fulfill it. Amen.

Day 30 30th July, 2023

MAKE YOUR LIFE COUNT

Key Text: Col. 4:2-5

There’s a popular saying: Time waits for no man. That saying is true because time is
passing. No matter how hard you want to remain young, old age will still catch up with
you. Time will slip through your fingers when you least expect it. Time is not in your
hands.

It’s not just the passage of time that guarantees growth. It’s what is done with the time
that ensures that you grow. The only time that matters is the one you properly used. If
you stay a whole day without doing anything spiritual, as long as that day is concerned,
that day doesn't count for the Lord. Redeeming time simply means using time wisely
because it’s not in your hands. The only time you have is time redeemed. You’re here for
such a time as this. But your time would eventually pass.

God is the author of time and to not do anything about the gospel would be to disregard
God that gave you this time on earth. Every day you’re alive is a day to fulfill God’s will
for you on earth, which is to save and train men. Not doing it will mean you’re
irresponsible and are not using your time wisely.

A lot of times, we don’t do what we’re supposed to do because we think we still have
time. It’s just like how people don’t work on a project until the deadline and then rush
through it.
A Christian is supposed to have an urgency about the mission we’ve been sent to
accomplish. There’s no time to sit around lazying. There’s no time to wallow in self-
condemnation and guilt. It’s time to live for the Lord and serve Him with your whole
heart. So, get up and get moving! Hallelujah!

Confession: Time is not in my hands, so I'll make every moment count. I’ll live every day
for the king that gave himself for me.

Day 31 31st July, 2023

THE NEW MAN

Key Texts: 2 Corinthians 5:16-21, Ephesians 4:24

From our key text, we see that the man in Christ is a new creature. Apostle Paul didn't say if
any man be in Christ, he will become. The day you got into Christ, you became a brand new
creature. You don’t need to start praying or working to achieve it, you already are.
When you got born again something happened in your spirit. Colossians 3:10 describes that
as the new man. The new birth is spiritual and it produces a new man. The new man is not
physically seen. Nothing changed physically at the new birth, but everything changed
spiritually. You most likely look the same way you did before you got saved, but in your
spirit, you are a completely different person.
Everything that happened at the new birth, at salvation, is spiritual. This is why Paul gives
you the instruction to behold. This is why you must go to the scriptures repeatedly to see
who you have become in Christ. All the problems we have when we feel inadequate are
because we have not bothered to look. The new creation is purely spiritual if you don't take
time to look you won't see. You'll live after your senses and your spiritual realities which
ought to change your life will be of no profit to you.
You must understand that the moment you got born again everything that happened to
you is spiritual. So you must be careful, otherwise, you will lose the importance of it. You’re
a new man in Christ. This is your reality. Begin to see yourself this way because this is how
God sees you. As you go into the word, your mind will be transformed to see yourself as you
really are in Christ. This will forever change your life.

Confession: I am a believer. I am a new creature. I am a new man in Christ. The old has
gone to never return, the new has come. I am a child of God. This is who I am. This is my
reality. Amen.
