Prophetic Focus: THANKSGIVING PRESERVES, MULTIPLIES & PERFECT OUR BLESSINGS – Luk. 17:12-19
Teaching Series: ENGAGING THE POWER OF THANKSGIVING
Introduction:
 When we give God thanks for what He has done, we remind Him of what remains
– Luk. 17:12-19.
Luke 17:12 And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that
were lepers, which stood afar off: 17:13 And they lifted up their voices, and said,
Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. 17:14 And when he saw them, he said unto
them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went,
they were cleansed. 17:15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed,
turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, 17:16 And fell down on his face
at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. 17:17 And Jesus answering
said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? 17:18 There are not
found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. 17:19 And he said
unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.
 Giving thanks to God in season and out of season is gateway to a life of
breakthrough in the kingdom – 1 Thes. 5:18/ Heb. 10:36
1 Thessalonians 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ
Jesus concerning you.
Hebrews 10:36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of
God, ye might receive the promise.
(Wed. May 12, 2021): ENGAGING THE POWER OF THANKSGIVING – Part 1
Every believer has a glorious destiny in Christ – Rom. 28:29-30/ 2 Pet. 1:3
Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the
image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 8:30 Moreover
whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified:
and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
2 Peter 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life
and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
Thanksgiving is a requirement to fulfilling our glorious destiny – Rom. 8:29-30/
Hab. 3:17-19
Habakkuk 3:17 Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail,
and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: 3:18 Yet
I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. 3:19 The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my
feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.

Thanksgiving is key to moving from insufficiencies to all sufficiency – Jhn 6:5-11

John 6:5 When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto
him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat? 6:6 And
this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do. 6:7 Philip
answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that
every one of them may take a little. 6:8 One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon
Peter's brother, saith unto him, 6:9 There is a lad here, which hath five barley
loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many? 6:10 And Jesus
said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men
sat down, in number about five thousand. 6:11 And Jesus took the loaves; and
when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to
them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.
But for our thanksgiving to be acceptable:
 We must do it with understanding of why and what to expect in return – Mat.
13:23/ Psa. 47:7
Matthew 13:23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it;
which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
Psalms 47:7 For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.
 Our thanksgiving must emanate from the heart – Mal. 2:1-3/ Isa. 29:13/ 1 Sam. 16:7
Malachi 2:1 And now, O ye priests, this commandment is for you. 2:2 If ye will not hear,
and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will
even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already,
because ye do not lay it to heart. 2:3 Behold, I will corrupt your seed, and spread dung upon
your faces, even the dung of your solemn feasts; and one shall take you away with it.
Isaiah 29:13 Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their
mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and
their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:
1 Samuel 16:7 But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the
height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for
man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.
 We must do it quickly – Jer. 13:15-17/ Luk. 17:17-19
Jeremiah 13:15 Hear ye, and give ear; be not proud: for the LORD hath spoken.
13:16 Give glory to the LORD your God, before he cause darkness, and before
your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and, while ye look for light, he turn
it into the shadow of death, and make it gross darkness. 13:17 But if ye will not
hear it, my soul shall weep in secret places for your pride; and mine eye shall
weep sore, and run down with tears, because the LORD's flock is carried away
captive.
Luke 17:17 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where
are the nine? 17:18 There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save
this stranger. 17:19 And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath
made thee whole.
