“RUTHERFORD AND BOHR’S MODEL / THEORIES”

Q1) Do a comparative analysis of Rutherford’s atomic model and Bohr’s atomic theories postulates and
results.

A1) Rutherford's atomic model proposed that atoms have a small, dense, positively charged
nucleus at the center, with negatively charged electrons orbiting around it. Bohr's atomic theory
built upon Rutherford's model and proposed that electrons orbit the nucleus in specific energy
levels, and that they can jump between these levels by absorbing or emitting energy. Bohr's
theory successfully explained the spectral lines of hydrogen and provided a framework for
understanding the behavior of electrons in atoms. Overall, Bohr's theory was an improvement
over Rutherford's model and helped lay the foundation for modern atomic theory.
