In 2022, the Fayat group demonstrated its capacity for

resilience and growth, with turnover of more than €5 billion.
In a worldwide context of great economic and geopolitical
uncertainty, the Group’s values of autonomy, commitment and

2022 was marked by the death of Clément Fayat, who founded
the Group in 1957. An entrepreneur, builder and visionary,
Clément Fayat put together a coherent and diversified Group,
with a complementary fit between building and industry,
a major player in civil works and world leader in road equipment.
The culture of the Fayat group is perpetuated through
the Clément Fayat Foundation, a public interest body and
Laurent Fayat
shareholder of the Group, which continues to preserve its

independence and ensure its growth.

TRIBUTE
to Clément Fayat

Clément Fayat, founder of the Group that bears his name,

passed away in early July 2022. Over the course of his
lifetime, through endeavour and an entrepreneurial spirit, he
built a family company which became France’s number one
independent construction group and a world leader in road
equipment.
A leader of people and teams, Clément Fayat succeeded in
developing a dual industrial and construction activity on which
he forged the balance of the Group. The Fayat group now
boasts an indisputable national and international presence,
through its seven key activities (civil works, foundations,
building, metal, energy services, pressure vessels and road
equipment).
Through his work and the legacy left to his two sons,
Jean-Claude and Laurent, Clément Fayat ensured the
longevity of the Group and its founding values: autonomy,
commitment and audacity.

KEY DATES

1957: Creation of the Group, with the SNT, Société

Nouvelle de Terrassement, renamed Fayat &
Compagnie in the 1960s.

1988: Fayat acquired Marini, the Group’s 1st overseas

location, marking the start of its international
expansion and its move into road equipment.

2013: Clément Fayat handed over the chairmanship

of the Group to Jean-Claude Fayat, and Laurent Fayat
became Managing Director.

FOUNDATION
2022 actions

The Clément Fayat Foundation, a shareholding foundation,

recognised in the public interest by Decree of 13 January 2021,
supports projects in three societal areas: health, training and
heritage. This investment in these areas is concrete, visible
and measurable. Its initial actions take the form of thesis
grants to support research in neurodegenerative diseases,
and scholarships in construction training aimed at young
people alienated from the job market and lacking in
qualifications. In the heritage field, initial support focuses on
reviving the wealth of French heritage and tradecraft expertise.

PATRONAGE

The restoration of the René Lalique windows in Saint-

Nicaise Church, Reims - Agreement signed on 20 October
2022. A project led by the Friends of Saint-Nicaise du
Chemin-Verts non-profit.

1st Clément Fayat thesis grant - NAPAD - Agreement

signed on 2 November 2021. A research thesis led by the
Physiopathology of Proteinopathies team at the Institute
for Neurodegenerative Diseases.

2nd Clément Fayat thesis grant - COUNTER P-D -

Agreement signed on 14 December 2022. A research
thesis led by the Development and Neurobiology of
Neural Networks team at the Aquitaine Institute for
Cognitive and Integrative Neuroscience.

Dedicated to construction machinery, building material

machines, mining machines, construction vehicles and
construction equipment, the Bauma trade fair was held in
Munich in October 2022. During the 7-day event, the Fayat
Road Equipment Division was represented by its subsidiaries
Bomag, Dynapac, Ermont, Marini, Secmair, Dulevo and Scarab,
who presented their equipment and new technologies aimed
primarily at meeting safety and sustainability challenges
while reducing energy use and carbon footprint, in addition
to digitalisation through the integration of autonomous
machines.
