Adaptability and commitment
to take up the challenges
of tomorrow
The world faced a doubly-unprecedented crisis in 2020. The nature and extent
of the pandemic compelled our businesses and their teams to react and adapt
on all their markets. New strategic measures were taken by our Group and its
subsidiaries to meet these new challenges as best as possible.

Clearly, our principal concern was to protect our staff by securing their working
environment, strictly following the health recommendations. There were
numerous outpourings of solidarity, both internally – maintaining ties with our
teams and optimising their working environments - and externally - keeping
connected to our clients and partners, and continuing to work for the good of
society. To facilitate the resumption of their activity, our teams introduced a
range of measures, particularly digitisation, and turned a constraint – travel
restrictions and the inability to meet their clients and partners – into a positive
opportunity to grow and innovate on a daily basis.

The adaptability and agility shown during this unprecedented period saw
the Fayat group anticipate and position itself as a major contributor to the
economic recovery. These qualities fully fit into the DNA of the Group, which
has been driven for more than sixty years by three fundamental values –
autonomy, commitment and audacity – which now make more sense than
ever and lead us to approach 2021 with enthusiasm and determination.
This new year will also be marked by the launch of the Clément Fayat
Foundation, a public interest shareholder foundation. Helping to preserve the
Group’s independence and continuation, the Clément Fayat Foundation also
respects the humanist values that have driven the Group since its founding.
2021 is a year to keep optimistic and stay active!

CIVIL WORKS
Large-scale and local

Civil works is the Fayat group’s original activity, meaning that it

benefits from a hundred years of expertise, which our companies
employ to manage small-scale, local or large-scale, complex and
innovative projects in France and abroad – particularly in many
African countries – on earthworks, civil engineering, underground
works, sanitation and road sites.

PREVENTION & SAFETY
More than ever at the heart of our daily lives
Health & safety has always been, and remains - today more
than ever - a key Fayat group priority and each of its Divisions
has adopted a specific, structured approach to safeguard their
staff. With support from QHSE, members of the Health, Safety &
Working Conditions Committee, and even external experts, our
Building subsidiaries raise staff awareness through information
and prevention campaigns, on regularly updated themes. The aim
is clear: zero occupational diseases and zero accidents. For our
Industrial activities, the approach also applies on our worldwide
production sites, aiming at all times to maintain safety standards
based on currently-applicable national rules. As for Road
Equipment, every stage in the design of our many technological
innovations features user-friendly optimisation, and aims to
reduce risks to a minimum for both operators, and, more broadly,
people on worksites near machines at work.

A global issue

The issue of sustainable development now concerns every field

- from civic life, to the heart of businesses. All our subsidiaries
are committed and endeavour every day to protect people, the
environment, and resources. Increasing the number of virtuous
lifecycles - road, construction materials, metal, water, etc -, saving
energy, reducing emissions and cutting consumption: Fayat is fully
committed to this approach, combining technology and innovation.

In the Building sector, digital transformation and the

systematisation of related new technologies have also 2.

had an impact on working methods: use of modelling

software on worksites to adopt a digital approach and
ensure comprehensive and coordinated management of
the physical and functional characteristics of structures,
3D visualisation of underground structures for extension
or servicing, predictive maintenance and new ancillary
services, etc. Our subsidiaries are also fully committed to
the smart cities of tomorrow, working to manage energy
performance and secure, optimise and increase comfort
of travel based on freshly-developed connections between
vehicles and infrastructure.
