Healthcare Social Workers


 A healthcare social worker is a specialized professional within the field of
social work who focuses on addressing the psychosocial and emotional
aspects of healthcare.
 These individuals work in healthcare settings such as hospitals, clinics,
nursing homes, hospices, and rehabilitation centers.

Healthcare Social Workers task and responsibilities


 Developing a healthcare plan for clients, such as a treatment and discharge
plan Educating patients and their families Managing client treatment routines
and handling crises as they arise Conducting comprehensive screenings for
incoming patients to assess their needs.

Child and Family Social Workers


 A child or family social worker serves in many capacities. They provide
assistance to children and families who need help to navigate certain
circumstances. The social worker must have a certain number of years
of approved course studies at an accredited college in addition to a particular
number of hours working with children and families in a social worker setting.

Child and family task and responsibilities


 Create a personalized learning plan for a disabled child.
 Remove children from an unsafe home.
 Provide parenting training for new parents.
 Place children in adopted homes.
 Provide therapy and mental health support to families.
Mental Health Social Workers
 Mental Health Social Workers are dedicated to the pursuit of social
justice and strive to help those affected by mental illness, drug and
alcohol, poverty, disabilities, unemployment, housing issues and other
personal problems and social disadvantages.

Mental Health Social Workers task and responsibilities


 Establishing rapport and building relationships with clients.
 Assessing clients’ mental health needs.
 Researching mental health resources for clients, such as substance abuse
rehabilitation programs and suicide prevention resources.
 Providing clients with information about resources based on their specific
needs.

Criminal Justice Social Worker


 Social workers serving clients in the criminal justice system, including
offenders and their families, are criminal justice social workers or forensic
social workers. They may work with inmates, recently released ex-offenders,
or people identified for targeted secondary prevention or intervention
programs such as drug court. Social workers are responsible for identifying
rehabilitative services the justice system originally intended with correctional
facilities, or to support family members impacted by offender actions.
