Beyond the Classroom Plan

Throughout my writing experience, I feel like there are two things I would really like to work on: mapping
out a story/ working through the kinks and expanding my genres/styles. Not only do I stick to one
consistent style and genre of writing (usually short stories and my safe genre of usually what I know to
be real), but also, when I run into problems, I tend to give up.

Plan and Goal

Throughout this semester, I plan on going to 2 of the visiting writers in order to learn more about
different genres and types of writing. I also plan to work with Manuscripts, which I recently joined, to
learn how to dissect stories. In doing this, I plan to submit a piece to Manuscripts that I have completely
worked through.

Schedule

Next Manuscripts Meeting: 9/12- 7pm

As well as continue to go to as many as I can

VWS- Matthew Zapruder- 10/2-7:30pm

Learning more about Poetry, something that I am kind of scared of.

VWS- Lydia Millet- 11/28-7:30

Ecology related and Fantasy.

Submit to Manuscripts- Personal Deadline of 12/01

This hopefully gives me time to fully map through, create, and edit my story to my liking
if I stick to a good schedule.
