GRAMMAR: La estructura de there is y there are

There is: se utiliza con nombres contables en singular introducidos por los artículos indeterminados
a/an o el número one y con nombres incontables utilizando some.

There is some coffee in the kitchen


There’s some wine in the bottle.
There is an apple on the table.
There is a carrot in the refrigerator

There are: se utiliza con nombres contables en plural con some. Como veremos a continuación, esta
regla se aplica también para el past simple y el present perfect. Sin embargo, no se aplica en el future
simple.

There are two people in the elevator.


There are six cats in the living room.
There are three bottles of beer in the fridge.
There’re some sandwiches on the table.
