My chosen capstone strand is entrepreneurship, I've focused on organizing a movie

night fundraiser, titled "SPCA Movie Night Fundraiser." The central question is: How can
I make a successful snack shop fundraiser?

My motivation for this project is from my interest in running a convenience store in

retirement and my love for animals. I hope for the fundraiser to combine these passions
and contribute to a cause like the SPCA.

My Capstone mentor, Liam D., who has participated in fundraisers and maybe his dad,
who has worked to create fundraisers for addiction intervention. Will be advising me on
my fundraiser and where I can improve.

Although my current career goal is in the medical field, the analytical and creative skills
required in entrepreneurship work with the mindset needed in healthcare. This project
creates a space to develop problem-solving skills useful in both areas.

The core competencies connections in this project are patience, creativity, and
adaptability. Recognizing the need for constant improvement, I plan to seek constructive
criticism, and adapt by pivoting to new ideas when problems arise.

For my capstone I aim to have a successful blueprint for a movie night fundraiser. There
is a few things that must be considered when making this fundraiser, I have divided it
into smaller steps for my manual.

First is what movie we are going to be playing, I chose Beethoven as it is a fun animal
movie that ties to the SPCA club.

The next section is when and where will this happen, you will have to contact the
teacher responsible for club events (Mr.Kim), in order see what nights are available and
where the movie is able to be played. Then decide on what you plan to sell during the
event.
With the list of items being sold, a spread sheet of cost vs sale price in order to
determine prices. With this information you want to begin advertisement of your movie
night.

Create posters and website showcasing the date, time, location, prices, and other
necessary info (QR code to website)

After selecting a day for the event with Mr.Kim, and selected your prices and what you
will sell, contact the office, add your event to the announcements list.

After this you want to go to the SPCA website and go to host your own fundraiser where
you will have to sign the following waiver.

Agreement_for_Special_Event_Benefitting_the_BC_SPCA.pdf;jsessionid=00000000.ap
p30038b

Then you can continue with your event once confirmed with Mr.Kim and the SPCA
Fundraising site.

Plan on what forms of payment you will be accepting. As well as having a

document/paper/notes to keep track of sales.

Purchase your items that you will be selling. Make sure all items are
undamaged/unopened, and before expiration date.

Then you just need to setup, get the projector said up in your designated area, and
arrange your items at the cafeteria window.

After the event, compare sales to cash, and calculate the profit from the event.
This is what my manual will consist along with helpful images to provide a visual aid.
The mentioned, spreadsheet, posters, and website will be provided to show evidence of
work. I will then create a slide show to explain each section.

Utilizing tools like Canva for posters, Excel for cost management, and online platforms
(Amazon, Dollar Store, and Costco) for product pricing, I will also leverage Instagram for
feedback and polls.

A potential obstacle is not being able to launch the fundraiser, preventing a real
example of the plan's effectiveness. However, the focus remains on developing a
blueprint avalible for future use.
