Sub: Regarding poor performances by Bank Branches of Gajapati, District under

PMEGP scheme for financial year 2023–24.

Sir,
As discussed in DCC / DLRC meeting held on dated 05.12.2023 at ZP
Conference hall under the chairmanship of Collector and DM Gajapati along with all
District coordinators of Branch head and concerned Department officers of Gajapati
district. During review of PMEGP scheme it is observed that the performance of
Bank Branches under the above said scheme is not at all satisfactory as
comparative to bank branches of other district of Odisha. Though it is one of the
flagships programme of Govt. of India to generate more and more employments and
create a foundation stone for first-generation Entrepreneurs in urban and as well as
rural areas. Since banks are one of the implementing agencies for PMEGP scheme,
they should finance maximum possible cases with minimum rejections towards
better economic development of the district. However, many branches are rejecting
PMEGP proposals sponsored by DIC Gajapati without any valid reasons. Bank wise
and branch wise performance of different banks of Gajapati district as allotted by
SLBC for the programme year 2023-24 is annexed in Annexure – ‘A’ for your
reference.

Hence, we need your good intervention to improve no. of sanction in the

district.
