TITLE GIAS-GENDER INEQUALITY ACTIONS STARS
ISSUE DESCRIPTION
Suggest a social action plan that in your
opinion, will help combat social racial
and ethnic inequality, and person with
disabilities social class difference or any
other social stratification division that
exist in your locally or based on your
own experience, inequalities in our
society. Your action plan can focus on
different aspects of social inequalities.

STRATEGIC ACTIONS
What action do you suggest to
interrupt or combat social inequality?
Gender inequality is discrimination on the basis of sex or
gender causing one sex or gender to be routinely
privileged or prioritized over another. Such activities,
where people are based on their gender in social
interactions, are not new in our community. Women who
are treated poorly simply because they are women are
one example. They assume that women are helpless and
capable of doing few things. Men are similarly affected.
Men are expected to shoulder practically all of the burden,
and they will be scrutinized when they show emotion. This
also applies to LGBTQ+ individuals who experience
prejudice on the basis of their gender. Because their
choice was unpopular with others, some people have even
mistreated them.
The goal of GIAS is to mandate every Brgy. to provide
information about the responsibility and capabilities of
every individual (not basing in their gender) to develop, or
deepen, the understanding on the issue of gender within
the institution;
to ensure that the policy programs and activities include a
gender perspective;
to promote the considerations of gender issues at all
policy levels.
Doing this action can help people to explore to their
understanding about different genders, and will help to
appreciate each of them. It is expected that some people
may have not participate in this, and is opposed to this
activity. So, this will be executed in areas with many
individuals, accompany with many activities to entertain
and persuade people to participate in the mandation.
Ways to spread information about gender inequality:
- Performs mandates in communities
- Promote advocacies to raise awareness
- Through host fundraising events
- Start with social focus
