SOIL ANALYSIS

Soil -refers to the upper most part of the earth crust which made up of organic and non organic matters
that support life and plant growth .whereby there various soil types such as sand soil, clay soil, loam soil

The out put from soil analysis is a soil map.in which we prepare it by using computer software like
QGIS,ArchGIS,ArchMap and so on whereas there should be obtained coordinate so that the soil map to
be produced.

Tools that are used in the soil analysis are such as GPS-essential is used to obtain the coordinates from
different zoned areas, also we use booking sheets to record the obtained coordinate, pen used for
writing , pencil used for sketching as well as sketching pad for attaching the booking sheets.

The methods which can be used to identify types of soil are like finger testing whereby you take a soil
then you scruch it through fingers the you can be able to identify types of soil that one touched it ,
through observation one may observe a soil and be able to identify types of soil if it's sand , clay or loam
soil or if there mixture of soil, also by looking on the presence of certain concentrated or sparced
trees, shrubs, grasses, this also enable to identify types of soil, also through water percolating so that
enable to know through it's permeability for example clay it's allow very slowly the penetration of
water, also we do zone the areas when we obtaining the coordinate of a certain kind of soil and when
the two types of soil if they overlap to each other they form a transition zone.

The implications of soil analysis in relation to the neighborhood are as follows;

Soil analysis it enables on the allocation of different facilities for example education facilities, health
facilities, commercial facilities and so on whereby we cannot allocate facilities like this in an area which
there no good kind of soil like clay soil which it's very problematic and hence becomes difficult to access
the provided facilities.

Soil analysis it helps much on the allocation of differenkind of plots for example low density plots,
medium density plots, high density plots and so on since we can allocate the low density plots in clay soil
since it's problematic kind of soil and the people who go for those kind of plots are high income
earners ,even though there other factors for example you may find the cost of the land is high to the
good kind of soil like sand soil and loam soil since we do not stick on one kind of factor there are so
many factors that have to be considered.

Soil analysis helps in landscaping as well as plants plantation since there some plants like trees ,flowers
they do not survive in the clay soil kind sand soil, but they well survive in the loam soil.

Soil analysis it enables in the agriculture activities since that will be conducted within the neighborhood
since even some of the agricultural like rice plantation they need soil like clay soil, loam soil but not
much the sand soil since it's allow much easily water to pass while Rice plantion requires more soil that
can stay with water for a long period of time .
Soil analysis it enables to allocate a certain kind of houses since some of the houses like the high
elevated one .if there no enough fund to construct them well they may lead to occurrence of accidents
for example it can fall down then cause death of people.

Through soil analysis we can reduces some of the risk disasters for example muddy slide like the one
occurred in Singida region at Hannang, land slide ,soil erosion, accidents as well as death.
