Aim: The aim of this experiment is to match the gravimetric results of the
first mixture and therefore the separated substance. the opposite objective is to
calculate each percent composition of the substance that was within the mixture.

Introduction:
Percent composition is about calculating the percentage of a
particular substance during a mixture or compound. it's used mostly to
calculate the percentage of a component during a compound using moles. to
calculate percent composition during a mixture, the primary thing ought to be done
is by using separation technique to separate the substances. during this experiment,
by knowing that salt is soluble in water and salt don't, determining the
technique that's to be used isn't an issue anymore. Mass percentage is a method of
representing the concentration of a component during a compound or a
component during a mixture. Mass percentage is calculated because the mass of a
component divided by the entire mass of the mixture, multiplied by 100%
Data:
Part A:
1.First, we have to determine the weight of Sio2:
The weight of Sio2= (Beaker +sio2)-beaker
= 125.1415–121.8438
=3.2977 g
The weight of Zn= (beaker + mixture)– (beaker + SiO2)
= 133.9667 – 125.1415
=8.8252 g

2.Second of all, we’ll calculate the percent composition of Zn

* I forgot to put the (i) in So2 by mistake*

percent composition (Zn)= 𝒁𝒏(𝒈) ÷ 𝒁𝒏(𝒈) + 𝑺𝒊𝒐𝟐(𝒈) × 𝟏𝟎𝟎%

= 8.8252÷3.2977+8.8252×100%
=72.7977%
3. now, we will determine the percent composition of Sio2
Part B:
1. We will determine the weight of Cu:

The weight of Cu= (Beaker + Cu)– beaker

=122.5688–121.8438
=0.725 g
2. Next, we will calculate the percent composition of Cu:
Percent composition of (Cu)= 0.725÷5
=0.145

Conclusions:
As we can see we determined the weight, then we’ve calculated the
percent composition by mass.
