2. What is relational`s view of Sin (2 pts)
3. What is the first symptom of being born sinful? (2pts)
4. Can you do good and still be bad? (2pts)
5. What can a man do to become a sinner?

Answers:

1. A text in 1 John 3:4 says, “Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices
lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.” Behaviorists view sin based on performance such as doing
bad things and bad deeds. They also believe that breaking the law also means practicing sin.

2. Relationists believe that the real issue of sin is separation from God; everyone who lives
apart from God sins. John chapter 16, verses 8 to 9 says “When he comes, he will prove the
world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment: about sin, because people
do not believe in me.” The beginning of sin on earth did not start with Eve, eating the fruit of the
Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil rather, it started when Eve distrusted Jesus, and disobeyed
Jesus—which happened before she ate the fruit.

3. The first symptom of being born sinful is self-centeredness. At times, when we focus
on ourselves, no matter how things are harmful to others yet beneficial to us, we tend to
do such things.
4. Yes. I can do good and still be bad, especially at times when I’m only doing good
things for bad reasons or intentions such as saying, “I will help this street kid so that
people around me will take pictures of me and I will be going viral on social media
tomorrow.” Things that are done apart from God and without faith, even the good deeds,
can still make you a bad one because it takes a pure heart to make good deeds. Purity
comes from having a strong faith in the Lord.
5. What a man can do to become a sinner is just be born. People are born sinful.
Romans 5:12 says “Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and
death came through sin, and so death spread to all because all have sinned.”
