The Faucets running, and everyone's eyes are on me. The dagger head is about to hit and…

Hector’s cough awakes me from my writing haze. I look up at his glare. He's mad that I
took “his” seat in the library. Every time I open my bag to put something away, I can see the
Hope in his eyes that I will leave. Welp. I'm not going to do well eventually, I do. I got tired of
sitting here and tired of Hector's glare. here you go, princess
The only reason I even know is who Hector is because he's my freshman year
roommate pretty f*** and he would bring her flowers every day. she never responded. One day
he ran into me crying over her, wondering if I could talk to her. I hated her, so I just walked away.
I walked up the stairs and into the Poetry section of the library. my guilty pleasure. I
headed straight to the Romantic poetry. our library is very well organized and makes it so much
easier to find certain topics.
I grabbed love letters from a great man and headed over to the love seats. ironic.
nobody really comes back here so I don't really have any hectares to glare at me when I'm in my
zone.
2 hours later and I realized that I'm almost late getting back home. my roommates are
going to be pissed if I missed tonight.
The annual fox hunt.
An annual event in which the girls that are invited dress up as prey animals and hide in the
woods waiting for the mate to come find them. The men are usually dressed in predator
costumes as they hunt for their female. Its pretty sexist but I think wolf history is coated in
sexiest and mysigontic behavior.
The fox hunt is the largest event into which wolves find their mates. Our college into
which I go to was founded by the wolves, created so that all factions could receive an education
together in peace. Vampires, witches, sirens and wolves all cohabit this place together, all with
our own traditons, but a unified manor.
The fox hunt is only for the wolves, a celebrated endeavort to find your mater based on
natural instinct alone.
Nobody knows who sendds the invitations nor has any clue who their prey or predator
could be. They only know who they are in the midst of it all. Its an event as old as our kind itself.
My parents met at the fox hunt, and felll madly in love, though they were the unlucky ones. My
mother left me when I was young and my father remarried.
I was a sophomore in college and this was my first year attending since I hadnt shifted
until recently. Only wolves that have turned are allowed to attend. The alpha made sure that this
was strictly enforced unto me even though it hadnt been really before.
Alpha Jax was the college pack’s head dog. He was a jackass, and my first and only
boyfriend. We dated all throughout high school and until I couldnt shift. Hes still unmated. And
even though we arent together anymore, he controls my every move worse then ever.
I have to be always around him or in ear shot of one of his little puppets in order to
apease his ego. Never allowed to go out or do anything fun it seemed. However, one night I
snuck out to a vampire party. Alex, the son of the Vampire president, was a good friend of mine
and invited me unbeknownst to Jax. Lacey, a witch and my best friend, went together drunk off
of Lacey’s concoctions. I ended up kissing Alex, which Jax had unfortunately witnessed as he
broke in to get me back. It was not fun.
He picked me up and led me back to the packhouse. The anger radiated from his body
like a strong sensation. It wasnt until we got to my room that he put me down, the hurt in his
eyes as he faced me sent a chill down my spine. I know I had hurt him, and disobeyed him, but I
needed a moment to just be wild for once.
We were best friends before we dated, and I knew Jax relied on me to keep the rest of
the pack in order. If i broke the rules, others in the pack of lesser stature would feel more
inclined to as well.
Anyway, I walked back into the pack house after my stroll on campus. Alcohol filled the
room with its stench. Girls were everywhere, drunk and in costume. They were all too giggling
and laughing, but you could tell some were drinking to calm their nerves. Not knowing who your
mate was, is a stressful and nervewracking experience. I cracked open the vodka bottle to calm
my own nerves.
My phone buzzed, it was Alex
“Cleared the Woods, have fun tonight, be safe”
“Thanks, I’ll tell Jax”
Three dots appeared after, but vanished as soon as they appeared. Alex and Jax had never
gotten along really and so it was my job to keep the peace between our two factions. My father
was Jax’s father late beta and so it was my interment job while in college to act as such, even
though Jax had his own beta.
The door opened… Lacey.
“I got you some of my special drinks” Oh god, last time she said that, we didnt make it our of the
room we were so drunk. Lacey called Jax because I had refused to go to bed, and even though
she had powers to do it, he picked me up and tucked me into bed. I had a stern talking to the
next day from him about it.
“Lacey, I need to make it to the woods” I stared at her not grabbing the drink, yet.
“And you will, I made them weaker this time but with a kick of something else, I think youll enjoy”
she winked her usual devilish grin when she had something up her sleeve.
“Whats the kick,” I looked up at her seating at my vanity. She didnt respond just handed
me the drink. Her eyes where enough peer pressure for myself to take the first sip. It was good.
The cranberry and sweet mix southed your mouth as it masked the taste of the liquor involved in
the drink. Lacey eyes watched in anticipation as I finished the first drink.
“Damn that was good” I wiped of the extra that was sitting on my lips while Lacey refilled
my glass with a slight giddy jump.
I was on drink number 4, feeling the alcohol a little more than I should have when their
was a light knock on the door. Before anyone said anything, we knew who it was.
Jax
Lacey opened the door for him as they exchanged awkward glances with each other. They had
never been the biggest fans of the others. However, he moved past her and onto me.
“Celia, what are you doing,” his tone was serious. Lacey, luckily, was able to slide out the
door behind Jax before she was put at fault for anything. Her goodbye wave was her way of
saying goodluck, I was going to need it.
“What, Jax, Im getting ready for tonight, you know the fox hunt, the only thing wolves
look forward to all year,” he deserved my snarkiness and sarcasm though never received it well.
He didn't take it well. Jax turned around and slammed the door. that was never a good
sign "First off, don't talk to me like I'm dumb. second, the liquor needs to end. " He got close to
my face taking the cup out of my hand as the seriousness radiated off of him to me.
Jax hated alcohol since it killed his sister in a drunk driving accident. He always
discouraged the pack from drinking but nobody ever listened to him on this.
“I'm sorry but I'm fine.” I tried to change the subject but it didnt work. “Alex said that he
cleared out the field for tonight from all the vampires and warned them not to enter to give us
respect for our sacred tradition.”
Without him even responded, I could feel the awkwardness he felt. He stood completely
still for a couple of seconds just playing with the cup, that was mine, in his hand. Jax cleared his
throat and tried to continue on. He didnt like the relationship that Alex and I had and it was very
evident in this moment.
Jax was never the person who had a good poker face. You could tell exactly what he
was thinking in the exact moment without him saying a word.
I mean I could at least.
We had been like this since we had known each other, I always called him out when I knew
something was up and he always kept me in line.
He glanced at the cup again and lifted it up to his nose as though to investigate me even
more that he already was.
“Aphrodisiac” he seemed confused, though a little entranced in the potion.
“Oh, thats what Lacey put in the drink, she told me she put something special into it, but did not
disclose what,” I grabbed the drink out of his stunned face and took another sip. I could feel that
kick now.
“You didnt know what was in the drink, but chose to drink it anyway? What if Lacey had
put something in there, you know I dont trust her, how can you do that” he stood up, his head
towering over me to assert his power.
“I trust Lacey” I growled. My eyes turned purple, my wolf’s eyes, a sign of my rage
brewing. I could feel myself loosing it.
Nobody questioned Lacey, nor my trust in her. She had been there when no one else
was. When I couldnt shift, she was the one who helped me.
During the shifting ceremony I was the only one who couldnt do it, the whole pack
disowned me in that moment. They said it would push me to shift and once I did they would
welcome me back. Nobody talked to me, helped me, not even Jax. However, Lacey did, she
was there. When I finally shifted, Lacey was the one talking me through it, helping me through
the painful moments, not the pack, not Jax. That was supposed to be Jax’s job as the alpha to
help his members during their shift, but he didnt he failed. Now he was questioning the person
who did help when he didnt. How dare he.
Jax must have sensed my anger brewing because he grabbed my hand before it
continued on. It helped to calm me, but also raise my anger at the same time. A single tear fell
from my face when he kept my hand close to his body.
“How dare you question Lacey after everything she did for me, when you chose not to” I
spat, though the tears hid the anger that was radiating throughout me. I ripped my hand out of
his and grabbed the nearby vodka bottle. I made sure to make dead eye contact with him as I
chugged it. He was trying to stop me but I would not allow it. He tried to rip it out of my hand, but
I wouldnt let him. I was drunk and upset and the only thing that would help was getting out of
this room, so I ran.
I ran out of the pack house, sensing Jax’s presence behind me as I got outside.
“Celia, Stop” he commanded and my body immediately did. He used his Alpha voice,
one that cannot be rejected or disobeyed by any wolf. I turned around. The single tear had
turned into many as I faced him. His usually golden eyes were now red with anger as he
showed the alpha inside of him.
“You used your alpha powers on me” my body caved to the ground, unable to hold itself
up anymore. The mixture of sadness, defeat and alcohol had caused the collapse.
“Get up Celia” he didnt need his powers for me this time. He had already broken me
down enough. My tears hid my eyes as I stood up trying ot maintain eye contact with him.
His face, again, told me everything that I needed to know. Jax wanted absolute control
over me and I was doing the complete opposite of what he wanted. I was the only one he did
this to. Only me. I was the puppet he played with to fulfill his egotistical controlling self. I hope it
was fun for him.
“The pack is meeting in the lobby, get back before you’re counted absent.”

If he wasn’t stronger than me I would have punched him right then and there. But I would have
missed my mating chance, he was right, if I didn’t get back soon I would miss it all. So I
sauntered back into the house threw some makeup on and put on the rabbit costume on my
roommate Astra left on the bed. She always called me her little rabbit because I was small and
loveable and also liked salads.

I threw it on with a quick glance in the mirror.

Hah, I was a joke, sexy but silly. I couldn’t help but laugh at myself.

I sauntered down the stairs meeting with the other shewolves. They were all dressed up as
deer, some mice and there was a fox, though that’s not a pray animal, but I digress.

Jax and his beta Argo, stood in the middle of the living room with the males behind, Argo was
dressed as a bear which was fitting for a man of his nature.

He was a big boy, kind-hearted but followed Jax around like the bitch boy beta he was.
However, he was sweet to me. He brought me candy and flowers and an apology on the day I
shifted.

Jax was not in a costume though the flannel cutoff was different than his normal attire of jeans
and a t-shirt. He had never been the most into traditions but realized he had to uphold them to
keep obedience and order in the pack.
I could feel the electricity circling the room, the mix of excitement and nerves could be read on
everyones faces both male and female. FInding your true love, your forever, your mate was not
a thing you could just fake a smile and move past easily.

Adrianna another roommate, must have spotted me before I did and ran up to me squealing.
She and Argo had been dating for some time now, but tonight was either confirmation of their
true love or the end of their relationship.

“Did Lacey make you her specialty, because its feeling some type of way.” She was drunk,
horney and ready for tonight.

“Yes but ….” before I could finish and rat out Jax the bell rang to dismiss the females. “Run
away pray” yelled some of the males as the shewolves ran out to their hiding spots. Adrianna
grabbed my had running, dragging me into the woods.

“I have an amazing spot, hidden well, plus theres more alcohol hidden there.” I didn’t have a
choice, she grabbed my hand before I could say yes to anything. We ran through the woods,
smelling the other females around us. Some were hidden well, others were not hidden at all.

I wondered that those that didn’t hide were scared that nobody would care to find them. Sad,
however, not my problem. You see, I wanted to be unmated. A lone wolf. I had very little trust in
my pack after they abandoned me. However this time, I would abandon them first. I was using
this night, unbeknownst to anyone, as my escape.

Every wolf would be too distracted to notice I was missing. Perfect coverup. Jax, by the time he
found out I was gone, I would be way too far away for him to find me. I may be the runt of the
pack but I’m sure as hell one of the fastest. A quality I have always hidden well. The pack also
wouldn’t care to find me. I had already disappointed them once, this time wasn’t different.

Adrianna didn’t know, she was too close to Argo. If he found out, Jax would. Then my plan
would have ended and me being humiliated instead of me humiliating them. She wasn’t a part of
the plan and either was being drug to the forest by her.

“Here’s the spot” It was the old witches hut that was abandoned when rummors came out that
they sacrificed their victims there, they didn’t. It was just their sex escape. It was home of any
drugs or aphrodisiacs anyone could want. They made up that rumor so outside factions
wouldn’t go rading without invitation. Adrianna’s step sister was a witch so Adrianna had
unlimited access, well, until her sister died. Tory was her name, suicide. Even witches powers
cann’t stop dipression. Adreianna was never the same.

“There’s a secret hatch to a basement like thing. Thats where… ‘ Her words stopped. It’s were
they found Tory’s body. It took two days to find her. It was some high teenage witch boy that
stumbled upon her.
“We don’t have to do this,” I told her. Tears were welling up in her eyes. “Yes, it’s the best
hiding spot.” Her smile was so fake, it could be real.

“Fine, lets do it. But first I really need to pee. Meet you in there”

She smiled and walked into the shack. This is my only chance. I checked my watch, I only have
five minutes until Adrianna gets freaked out that I am gone and ten minutes until the boys get
released.

It was my only chance, I had the whole plan, I had to do it, I had to. Three minutes left until
Adrianna got worried and I had made it up scream hill. Property of the sirens. Ironic, right.
Below was the lake into which the faction resided. Into which Chelan resided.

Chelan was my oldest friend that I had. Ever since my mother left, he was the one who took
care of me when my father was doing pack business. He taught me how to swim, cook, clean,
do everything. He was the one who helped inspire me to leave the pack. Chelan was forced to
leave his people after they didnt want him anymore. Males, to sirens, were an unwanted
specimen only needed during mating season. So he left and came here, where he met me while
I was attempting to swim at the lake. I was glad it was him who found me and not some hungry
siren. After that day, I was at the lake everyday with him. He became the older brother to me.

It was a sunny day about three weeks ago. My mind was racing ever since I had
received my invitation to the fox hunt. I had to share the news with Chelan. He was swimming
by the docks when I caught up to him.
“Hello there little pup” he meant it as a term of endearment but sometimes I hated it. I
acknowledged him back and sat down on the edge of the dock. He jumped up next to me, his
teal tail turning into a pair of gorgeous tan legs with a pair of identical teal swimtrunks. Chelan
had always had the best body, and everyone on campus knew it.
“Lacey and I have been talking,” these words sparked my attention. Chelan and Lacey
never really conversed about anything especially matters about me. “Do you really think the
pack has your best interest at heart,” he looked at me sadly, though the words caught me by
surprise. I knew that I was hurt by them but a wolf needed a pack. Chelan continued, “I was left
by mine and Im doing great now on my own, I know you love them, but I dont think they
reciprocate those feelings” he grabbed my hand.
“My pack is my family, my home, where would I go, what would I do without them. I
would also have to give up college life and my education, Chelan did you really think about what
this would mean for me,” a million daggers hit my heart because I knew he was right and I was
just admitting excuses.
“There are colleges all over the world, and I have been watching you through my looking
glass,” he picked up the water down below and turned it into the ball of glass. Images of campus
appeared through, so thats how he was able to know evefrything. “All I am saying is that I have
a truck and two packed bags for you, whenever or if you decide.”
“I’ll think about it, Chelan” and I threw him into the water. Our serious moments needed
some reliving.
I ran down the hill and back to the same dock into which Chelan first talked me into leaving. He
must have sensed something was happening because there he was, two bags in hand.
“How did you know” I questioned grabbing the bags he held out for me.
“I know everything” he smirked. He handed me the keys to his truck out of his pocket, its
location was down the road. Before, the keys it my hand, the bells to release the boys struck.
“Do you think they’ll come down this way” i asked anxiously.

“No one from your pack is allowed past the hill, so you are safe, you are the only one of your
kind allowed here,” he gave a flirty wink with the statement. He got serious, “there are
coordinates already in the truck that Lacey implemented. She will meet you there. Be safe and
go,” he kissed me on the forehead as we departed ways. It was like saying goodbye to family,
not knowing if you will ever see them again. We had separated from our hugs when we both
spotted a figure on the hilltop.
Jax, his Red eyes were visible all the way here. “Run” Chelan screamed so I did. He
held Jax of best he could as I reached my car. Luckily I managed to make it safe and start it
before any wolves reaxched me.

I loved this car. When I was 16, this was the car that Chelan taught me to drive in. My
father was too busy and Jax wasnt able to even though we were dating at the time. It was
beautiful to drive and gave me great memories between Chelan and I. However, Jax was
jealous of those memories that Chelan and I created. He waited at the docks one day as Chelan
and I were finishing up and yelled at me in front of the whole siren faction, for no reason. Jax
dragged me back to the packhouse and didnt speak to me for days.
I let that rage infuse into my entire being as I raced down the highway, following the
coordinates that Lacey had given me. Though the rage was focused on something else, why
was Jax on the hilltop and not with his mate.

What were we mates? Thats the only way he couldve found me so fast was through the
mate sense. I could feel him trying to contact me down the bond as I drove away, but I kept my
wall up, something I had gotten very good at over the years. Fuck you, I thought as I shut him
out for good.

It was about two hours into the car ride when my bladder hit. All the alcohol had worn off
before I got in the car, but the liquid needed to come out. I pulled of into a small country looking
restaurant, it smelled of humans. Thankfully.

“Hello Dear” the elderly lady stood at the back of the store. Human.
“Hello, Ma’am, do you by any chance have a restroom I could use” I was doing the potty dance
at this point.
“Oh yes, but unfortunately its only for buying customers” she looked sheepish while
talking to me.

“Oh yes of course, Ill take a large coffee and a 16 ounce steak, as rare as you make them” she
looked entranced and scared at the words I had just said but took the order anyways. I used the
money that Chelan had left in the bag and gave it to her. She in turn handed me the keys to the
restroom and the directions.

She seemed scared of her own shadow, though was nice in a sense. She said my order
would be ready probably by the time I got back. Thank god, I was starving. I made it into the
restroom, checking all the exits, just in case, and relieved myself. I was washing my hands when
I heard the familiar voices.

“Hello Ma’am, have you seen my wife here. We got into an argument and she ran off. I just need
to find her and tell her that I love her,” His voice sounded genuine though I knew it was a lie.
Argo was there also, I could smell him from the bathroom.

“Yes, there was a woman here, though she went to use the restroom. Her order of steak and
coffee is ready for when she comes out” dammit she rated me out. What happened to women
protecting women.

Jax chuckled, “of course she got steak and a coffee. Its her favorite meal.” I could tell
Jax was trying to distract the lady while Argo searched for me, but it was to late. I found the
window, opened it and crawled through. Thank god I am small. Argo found me as soon as I had
made it to the truck.

“Shit” i heard him scream as he ran out of the bathroom. I was going to need help. I called out to
Lacey through our mind link that she had created.

“Lacey, they found me, help me” I think she heard me because a couple seconds later and the
car became untrackable.

“There I put an invisibility spell as well as a tracking deterrent on the truck so you should be fine,
just dont stop anywhere else,” I knew that, but damn was I hungry.

Two hours later and I was at the destination. It seemed like a literal field, there was
nothing and no sign of Lacey. I thought it would be a good time to release my wolf, it had been
contained for a while. My body ached as it shifted, but it had gotten less painful over time. The
run felt good, though when I got back something felt off. I decided to shake it off and move past
it. I was probably just sensing that Lacey was close by. I put on my clothes and headed back to
the truck, though I didn’t make it back. Before I could reach the door handle, there was a
stabbing pain in my neck and I was gone.

I woke up strapped to a bed. Where was I. There were metal bars all around me, was I in
a cell. Did Jax somehow find me and is this mad that hes punishing me this way. There was a
dark female figure across the room from me, though I couldnt tell who she was.

“Lacey” I screamed, “Lacey” I got louder as I struggled with the chains that were holding me
down.
“Hello, Earlena” no one had called me that since I was a child. No one but my mother. Celina
was the name I had given myself when she left me and no one had called me anything different.

“Mother” I questioned, I had not seen her for years what did she want from me? She got
closer and I could smell her scent of cigarettes and disdain like never before. She shoved her
face in between the cells as she got close to me.

“Hello Daughter, long time no see,” she chuckled unlocking the door behind her. She brushed
my hair as she approached me. I tried to move my head but the shackles held me tight.

“What am I doing here, whats going on, why am I chained up like this” I struggled as she pet me
head like some dog. She stood up before me.

“You my dear, are a special gift, that has been gone away from me for too long. I need your help
with something that only you can do,” she smiled

“Why would I help you” I spat

“Because if you refuse, I’ll kill everyone you’ve ever loved,” though this voice was not my
mother.

“Lacey, what… what” I was too stunned to speak

“Oh come on Celina, you know how much I hated that place, plus the deal your mother made
with me was to good to promise, plus I want to see your pack suffer,” she grimaced and entered
into the cell alongside my mom.

“Sweety, you are a powerful young being that was a gift by the fates to destroy the factions and
build up a new foundation into which we can rule” what was she talking about, I was not
powerful and surely not powerful enough to bring down all the factions.

“I am not powerful” I cried

“Sweety, you are the daughter of a beta and an Alpha, the true Alpha of the college pack before
Jax’s father took it over from me,” my mother was an alpha. How did I not know this? She
answered it for me, “the pack and the council decided that a woman leading the pack was not
good enough for them so they dethroned me and named Jax’s family instead, they deserve
everything,” She also continued on about a prophesy that a wolf with lilac eyes and white fur
would either bring together the factions, or lead to their demise. Thats what they wanted. To use
me as a weapon. I wouldnt let them.

“I am not going to help you” I made sure to show those lilac eyes that were prophesied about.
“Yes you will, either consciously or unconsciously,” her eyes shown as red as Jax’s did when he
used his alpha powers. It was a forcing power that every wolf had to obey. I fought the glare as
hard as I could but it was crushing me. However, I stood my ground. I broke through the chains
and got of the bed staring at both Lacey and my mother.

“Good girl, See Lacey I told you, no one not even an Alpha can use their powers on her
unless she wills it. Now please constrain her again,” and the world went black again.

I woke up on a new bed this time. Heavier contrasints tied around my legs and arms. Mother
and lacey were standing above me as a wretched smell filled my nostrils. Lacey had some type
of needle in her and and before I could fight back stuck it into my neck. The pain echoed
throughout my body. My veins tuurned black as it flowed throughout my entire self, it was awful.
I fought it of the best I could as my whole body seized. However the pain seemed to be over
before it had even begun.

I tried to reach out to Jax, but the link was dead. There was nothing to hold onto except for my
own self and my will to live.

“Lacey, mark of witches blood as not effective,” thats what they had stuck into my body. They
wanted to see if I could withstand the side effects of the factions in order to make sure I am
there viable weapon.

“What are you doing to me,” I coughed.

“We have to test all factions poisons to make sure that you can withstand them before we move
on to the second part of the test. We dont want to get the council involved before we know that
you are the actual weapon we need,” the council was involved. That meant the wolves had no
clue. They could be dead next week with no warning and it would be all my fault. Before I could
say anything though, they injected me with the sleeping drug again.

These tests continued for days, each one more painful then the last. My body seized, broke,
and felt like death but I survied. The worst was the vampire’s blood. It felt like needles in my
blood stream that were trying to escpae. However painful it was though I would not let them see
me cry or show my pain.

I had woken up one morning though to my mother seating at the foot of the
uncomfortable bed into which they placed me. She had a spoon and plate of food like a mother
about to feed her babe.
“Eat” she said as she held the spoon up to my mouth. I had not remembered the last time I had
eaten even while being here. I ate the food, not because of her but because my mouth was
watering for food. “Good girl,” she really pissed me off. I finished the plate and went back to
sleep.
Though I couldnt sleep, all I could dream of was fire and flames with me at the center of
it all. The factions were destroyed, our college was destroyed and I was the weapon of its
demise. I seemed proud as my mother and Lacey took foothold of all the power. I was their
bitch, but everyone feared me. I even dreamed of ripping Jax apart, which always woke me up
with a tear stained face.

Lacey was there when I woke up, her snarky bitch face shown bright. “Good morning sunshine,
get up” she forced me out of my bed using her powers. Did she not realize that I could kill her
right here, right now? “I know you arent going to hurt me little wolf, you cant I’m your best
friend,” she was right. I dont think I could ever kill her, I still saw her as my best friend even now
after all of this.

“You are the reason my pack abandoned me, you psychotic bitch.” I snarled. She didnt say
anything just laughed and said words I couldnt tell, and I was out again.

I woke up within a field, desolate with nothing around it but a small lake and a tree stump. On
my arm there was a black band, though when I tried to remove it, it sent a shock of pain through
my system that sent me through the ground. I had seen this kind of thing before, it belonged to
the council. They used it to help train their people and track them on the courses. This must be
a training course, and they must be out there watching.

Before I could be attacked, I shifted into my wolf state. My beautiful white fur shown in
the deseloate arena. I was ready. My wolf was ready. I could feel the adrenaline pumping, I had
been concooned in this cell for weeks, besides the test and my wolf was ready. I sensed some
creatures nearby and when I turned around there they were. A witch, siren and a vampire. All
seemed of large nature and mature in power.

Really outnumbering the runt how rude.

It didnt matter though, I was ready. The Vampire was the first one to attack as I ripped them to
shreds, its dismembered limbs flew across the air. I had its hand still in my mouth as I faced the
siren. Its song sent a shocking and painful wave throughout my head, it made me cower and
fall, though I was able to block out the noise. Its death was even more gory than the vampires.
The witch was left, it was the hardest to face. Its spells were powerful. It caused me to shift back
to human and back to a wolf without control. A painful process to endure.

“Block it out, you have to block their voices out,” it sounded like Jax’s voice but it couldnt have
been. It must have been a trap. I tried my best to block out the voices of the witch, it was hard. I
attacked it from behind as it sent me spiraling around the arena. Its voice cracked as a bit its
face off and threw it besides them.

Next was the council. I turned towards them, feeling their energy as my guide.
“Shift back” Laceys voice echoed, but I didnt listen. A shock fell into my system.

“Shift back or will make you,” this time it was my mother's voice. I complied shifting back into my
human form. My naked body stands gloriously before them all.
This is the weapon you want, well here it is in all its glory.
Lacey must have not liked me showing of for she flung clothes onto my body, ugly clothes, but
at least it was something. They showed me back to my cell though didnt allow me to see who
the council members were.

“Good job today sweetie, you impressed many of the council members. Some of them are now
swayed to approve the upheaval because of your work today” She sounded like I had just won a
basketball game.

“They were just pawns that the council gave us to test her, they werent that powerful” Lacey
remarked. I had just ripped apart three creatures by myself and she had the gull to discredit me.
Shes the dumb one. We reached back into the cell but before entering my mother turned and
grabbed my hand.

“We have decided,” she turned to Lacey, “that if you join us, the pack will be yours to rule.” She
seemed so proud of herself.

“No, I will not rule a pack of completely blind obedience members, nor one that serves you two.”

“Think about it sweetie, for the offer wont stand for long,” the shut the door to the cell with me
inside. “Goodnight”

I couldnt sleep all night between the nightmares that I was facing and the toilet bubbling. It was
an annoying wretched sound that stopped me anytime I closed my eyes it seemed. I ignored it
and instead focused on the pack.

“I am so sorry, Jax” my tears spread wide over my face. He was probably tearing apart
everything and worried sick. The whole pack was about to be completely blindsided with me at
the forefront of it all. I also wondered about Chelan. He was about to be also caught in the midst
of this war as well. I worried that he was a part of this all also in the first place, was he working
with Lacey, he couldnt be.

“Please Chelan dont be involved in this” my tears got heavier. The sound of the toilet got
heavier as the water flowed higher.

“Chelan are you there,” I sat up as the toilet bubbled again in response. “Chelan save me, tell
Jax he's in trouble, and help save the college in general.” I stared into the toilet worried that my
mother and Lacey would catch on as well. It bubbled back in morse code.

Soon, it said. Chelan had taught me when I was a kid as a form of communication.
Sometimes he would communicate with me through the kitchen sink when we were separated
for too long. Jax, was another thing that popped up out of the toilet. He knew, whew, it relieved
me to know that Jax was in the loop and was being prepared for all of this. However before I
could continue Lacey and an unknown man walked into the room.
“Are you sick there little pup,” her Kniving voice made them both chuckle. She reached the cell
door but didnt unlock it, “here she is the prized weapon of the factions downfall,” she pointed at
me like I was some animal in a cage.

“Hello, I am Benjamin, the vampire council representative,” as he got closer I could see his
resemblance to Alex. This must be Alex’s estranged brother, his family disowned Benjamin after
he tried to ruin the peace in with the vampire’s realm. “I was, however, expecting a weapon, not
a runt”he smirked

“Ill show you runt,” as I charged to the gate.

“Woah their little wolf,” he put his hand up and backed away from the gate, “your right about the
lilac eyes, they are.. Mystical” the both chuckled as they walked out of the room. Lacey, however
turned around before exiting.

“Be ready for tomorrow” no idea what that meant.

I woke up the next morning in the arena again. This time, I felt the impact more. My wofl was
nowhere to be found and I couldnt link with her to save my life. I felt like I did before I shifted.
Stuck in my own body.

Two witches appeared in front of me. The maze spell. The same one Lacey had used to get me
to find my wolf. Another two sirens appeared onto my left side, there song making my head spin
with pain that shot me to the ground, my screams were deafening as a grabbed my head.
Vampires appeared on the other side of me. I was screwed if I couldnt find My wolf in time to
fight off the creatures.

I remembered Lacey telling me that the May spell was all mental mental was all it was I had to
remember that it was just my head preventing me from reaching my wolf nothing physical only
that. so I imagined me running through the walls of the maze like they are paper nothing. I
sprinted through imagining my wolf was right there in front of me waiting for me. I eventually got
to my wolf luckily before the vampires had reached me I tried to run but they were too quick. my
wolf and I shifted together as fast as we possibly could.

I went after the witch first their body dismembered in front of me as I blacked out and let
my wolf take control the next was the other witch it's body even more limber than the first as I
tore it Limb from limb with no remorse.

I watched the vampire stare at me contemplating their next move with no thoughts behind their
head I imagined myself ripping their heads from their bodies and throwing it onto the next. but
before I could move the siren song got louder. my head pulse with pain as it sent me to the floor.
it echoed throughout me. I tried to fight it but it was very difficult the vampire lunch on to me
sinking its teeth into my shoulder the pain electrifying throughout my body. I eventually was able
to fight the vampire off and kill it but the sirens were still there.
The vampire's blood had affected me worse than I thought my body grew limp and I didn't know
how much I could fight this off. these creatures were much stronger than the first ones the
council sent. luckily though a wolf brown fur with golden eyes lunged over my body as it laid on
the ground. It ripped apart the sirens as my eyes closed falling asleep fighting the Demons
Inside My Head.

when I woke up I was in somebody's arms Jack's. his shirtless body showed me the signs that
he had just transitioned Back To Human and was also completely naked. I wanted to ask him
questions but no words would form out of my mouth so I just went back to sleep until we landed
at safety.

I woke up and his bedroom on his bed he was holding my hand head laid on it. he
woke up as I pressed my hand onto his head. he leaned his cheek into my hand as he seemed
worried about my well-being.

“Im okay Jax” his worried face was not well hidden at all. I sat up wondering all the
questions as Jax already knew. He placed his palm against my forehead ready to show me all
the memories.

There he was heartbroken standing on top of lake hill. Chelan told him that I was going
to be safe and though it broke his heart, he understood, he chased me to the diner, but gave up
after. However, a couple days later Chelan showed up at his door with Alex in complete disarray
and showed him the looking glass. Lacey had betrayed us all. The next memories was that of
trying to find me trying to communicate with me through it all. they had showed up at the at The
Hideout. Chelan and Alex took on the council members as Jax went to go look for me.He found
me on the ground fighting the sirens song as he immediately shifted enraged by what was
happening. His anger as he killed the siren and scooped me into his human arms.

I could feel his emotions throughout the entire thing. The sadness he felt the guilt for
pushing me away, the desperation to find me. It was all there. When he picked up my limp
human body and saw all the marks, bruises and pain I faced, he almost attacked anyone in front
of him but he knew he had to get me back.

When the memories ended, Both Jacks and eyes had tears in our eyes. though they
were interrupted by Adriana's yelling. she ran up to me screaming hugging me as I winced in
pain she pulled away at this remark. Argo was behind her with beckoning her to come back as
he sensed my pain. she was just excited though to see her friend was alive and well and back in
the pack house. Adriana had always been a physical touch person which is why her and Argo
works out so well together.

When she pulled away Adriana and Argo held hands as Jack's and all of us discussed a plan.
the council was in complete disarray, and the factions at the college were completely against
them. they had disobeyed every rule they had set in place, and there were going to be
consequences for each of the factions we're going to deal with their Traders on their own. Some
people in the college were worried about me and the power that I held, but most were honored
that I was willing to fight for peace and wanted to fight for it alongside me.

Adriana and Argo left at some time, leaving just Jax and I together in the room. he got up to
leave but I couldn't let him. Something inside of me wanted him to stay. he reached the door and
put his hand on it but before he could leave " please don't leave me right now " he pulled away
from the door and turned back to me. " you need sleep right now Selena. "

“No what I need is you,” he turned around and came back into bed being careful that one
movement might break me. I laid my head onto his shoulder and wrap my arms around his body
I could feel his heart rate beat fast but slow down after a Time. this was the only way I was
going to be able to get sleep after the ordeal I just endured.

He kissed my forehead as we both went to sleep. I woke up the next morning wrapped
up in each other's arms not knowing where the other person's body was disconnected from the
others. The kisses turned into more after our while as our bodies took control. We needed to do
this for each other. We had been apart for so long our bodies needed to unleash the lust it had
been holding on to. It was maginifcent, and the best sleep I had gotten in a long time.

He woke up first having to leave for some pack ordeal but going to meet me later. I
decided this would be the appropriate time to take a shower. I can't remember the last time I
took a shower. smelling my body, I realized that I did stink. I got up and walked into his
bathroom with his separate jacuzzi and his huge walk in shower. The jacuzzi must have been a
new purchase for I hadn't recognized it before. I turned the shower on and stripped while I
waited for the water to turn hot. my body looked ragged it was covered in bruises and cuts and
scrapes as my neck was covered with injection spots. some of my veins in my arms were black
with the blood of the creatures that have been injected into me.I looked at my neck where It met
my shoulders. a mark. there was a mark on my shoulder I ran my hand over it worried that I
would feel pain. you see if of werewolf marks another without consent it renders the victim in
immense pain. however there was no pain here only a slight tingle. had I consented to this last
night I didn't remember.

I ignored it for now as a topic that I would bring up later and I hopped into the shower.
the warm water felt great against my skin as the steam wrapped me up like a blanket. the
shampoo and conditioner pressed into my head felt like a brand new woman. it was when I tried
to scrub down my body that I was missing the soap I looked around for it but realized it was in
Jackson's hand. he had joined the shower.

“Hey I didnt invite you in here,” I joked but also being serious. He chuckled and clung onto my
body though before he could do anytjinh I turned around.

“Did you mark me last night” he seemed confused in this statement.

“Yes do you not remember,” as he showed me my mark that I left on his skin. The memories
though at the sight had come racing back. It was my idea, though. I chuckled and blamed it on
all that I had been through and my brain not working. I embraced him tightly as we finished our
shower together and walked out of the bathroom both admiring our naked bodies in front of the
mirror.

Jax had laid out a fresh pair of clothes for me on the bed. I was thankful for it as I don't
think I could walk into my room ever again. the memories that Lacey and I had spent in that
room were too hard to face right now. she needed to die as well as my mother.

Days had passed with no word from lacing on my mother about what was to happen to them.
there was however to be a greeting of the new Luna to the pack me. we gathered the pack in
the meeting room as Jack's announced some of the new news to them. the vampire traitor had
been caught and killed. the sirens were still on the lookout for theirs as the witches found their
body suicide. they burned the witch's body on the cursed ground onto which they lay their
wicked. Jack's announced the an exciting announcement to them as he looked at me and
grabbed my hand he stood up,

“Pack meet your new luna,” everyone cheered as and some people cried Adriana almost died.
this was exciting it was no match for it was about to happen. Chelan and Alex walked into the
room together holding hands, this was new. They nodded to Jack's and walked into the planning
room. we all together mastered plan to find my mother and Lacey, I would give myself up in the
hopes of it all. Jax was against me being used as bait but it was the only way. After the plan was
set and Jack's had left, I turned to Shalon and Alex.

“ when did y'all become a couple” their faces Turn bright red.
“we had always had crushes on each other but when it came to you and Jax knowing or finding
out, we kept our distance. Having all this turmoil really United us together and we decided that if
we were going to die tomorrow might as well spend it with each other.

It was the day of the confrontation all the factions were United together on the hilltop of Scream
Mountain. there was Lacey my mother at the Forefront a limp body was above them. my father.
they were going to use him as the pawning point to get me back on their side. it was not going
to work. I raced against them but before I could get to my father Lacey snapped his neck. the
only family I had left was dead now. there was nothing left. Alex locked eyes with Lacey as that
was his Target to get and I ran off hoping my mother would chase me she did. her dark gray wolf
was not as fast as mine as we both stood and stand still facing each other. Her wolf mind linked
me a message of when she was pregnant with me and the tests she completed to transform
herself into an undefeatable villain. Our battle was tough but I won. Her screams echoed
throughout.
We had lost 4 faction members this day including my father as well all mourned their loses.
Each faction deciding to do what they wanted with their dead. Afterwards though the surviorvs
needs a celebration.

“A wedding,” Alex ran up to me at the pack house. We want the celebration of our victory to be
our wedding and we want you to officiate.

“I mean, Im honored.. And surprised… but of course,” we all squealed with excitement. I found
Jax laying on our bed, his body warn out from the fighting and the burying and now planning all
the celebrations. I crawled in next to him, cuddling his body close to mine as he kissed my head.

“Thank you” I said looking up into his eyes.

“For what” he said.

“For always willing to fight for me” we kissed

“Always” and the kissing led into more.

It was the day of the wedding and the whole college was buzzing. An uniting of the factions
through this wedding was just what we needed. It went of without a hitch. Jax and I danced the
night away. At the wedding reception, all of the leaders got together,

“We would like to make an announcement,” Chelan and Alex announced to the wedding party.
The rest of the leaders including Jax stood next to them. “After all we have been through, we
believe it is time for a change,” they all looked at each other. Jax looked at me, smiling broadly. I
was confused. “In order to make the change, we are going to initiate a new College president,
Celina Hover.” everyone cheered while Jax ran up and grabbed my hand. He kissed my cheek.

Why didnt you tell me this was going to happen. I mindlinked him.

It was going to be a surprise and we also just decided. He winked back at me.

The rest of the night went off with a hitch. Jax and I ended our night on scream hill where
everything began.

He stood up and then got down onto his knee, “Celina, you are my luna, the president of the
college and my love, will you be my wife.”

I grabbed his face and kissed him brightly, “Of course my alpha” as the fireworks from the
wedding hit right on cue.
