Mull these haiku over in your mind, ponder over them, analyze them. From
your own perspective and analysis, what is the meaning of these haiku? What
is your own interpretation?
Output 1: For each of the three haiku, write a one-paragraph essay with a
minimum of eight sentences. What is your haiku analysis? (10 points each)

Part 2: MY OWN HAIKU


Now, you are ready to come up with your own haiku!
Write your own haiku carefully following the specifies guidelines and tips. Be
sure to reflect the 5-7-5 rule in your three lines! Be sure to give your poem a
title! (15 points)
For the last part of your assignment, read your haiku to one of your
classmates. Then, ask this classmate to give you his or her interpretation and
analysis of your haiku. Ask your classmate to write down his feedback to you.
And, it’s okay if its different from your original idea! (15 points)
