SAVD(SELF AWARENESS AND VALUES DEVELOPMENT)

Through this discussion, I have gained a wealth of knowledge about the self, self-awareness, and the
importance of values, particularly in the context of Filipino culture and the NSTP program. This
exploration has shed light on various dimensions of human behavior, emphasizing the significance of
self-awareness as a cornerstone of personal growth and emotional intelligence. It underscores the
importance of understanding oneself and the factors that shape human behavior. It emphasizes various
aspects of the self, such as the physical, spiritual, darker, social, and private self, and how they
contribute to our self-esteem and self-worth. Self-awareness is a crucial element, allowing us to
recognize our strengths, weaknesses, thoughts, beliefs, and emotions. It's through self-awareness that
we can make positive changes in our lives.

So, the Johari window introduces the idea of four selves, the open self, blind self, unknown self, and
hidden self. This concept underscores the complexity of human beings and the need to explore and
understand these different aspects of ourselves, from personality to values and needs. Self-awareness is
a journey that involves acknowledging one's feelings, practicing reflective thinking, and seeking
feedback from trusted individuals.

The discussion also highlights essential qualities for self-success, like independence, self-confidence,
persistence, and optimism. Additionally, it delves into the development of values and the significance of
upholding Filipino core values in the context of NSTP activities. These values, derived from the Preamble
of the Philippine Constitution, include faith, love, peace, justice, unity, and patriotism. Furthermore, the
discussion touches upon the cultural values that shape Filipino society, such as family-centeredness,
politeness, and hospitality. These values, deeply ingrained in Filipino culture, play a significant role in
daily life and interactions.
